I've always disliked "that" quote in BT2.

Could somebody please, what was the purpose of it? Or is it just me taking it the wrong way?
It's like they're "Japanese voices sucks keep English!11!". In previous/later games it wasn't like that, only in BT2. It always bugged me when i went to the options.

Aren't most last-gen consoles region-locked? I imagine it's just them assuming that a person playing on an American or European console doesn't speak Japanese.

But yeah, it is a pretty stupid line.

The region lock is there, but so, if somebody wants to change the voice just let them do it. It was there since [PAL] Budokai 1 i think, why did Atari or whoever was in charge of the text, suddenly do that in one game.

I understand YouTube comments being childish, but things like this actually getting to the official media are really bad.

Oh and if this doesn't warrant a topic you can close it.

After so many years I popped in Tenkaichi 2 on PS2, went to the settings to change to Japanese just to read this line, it was rather disappointing that the hatred for the original Japanese version spread to the games.

Sure I can't understand Japanese but that doesn't mean I don't prefer the original language than a dub. If I have the option to hear a film/series/game in its original language then I'll rather take that over a dub.

It's just like those little shits from YouTube always saying how English Goku (guessing Schemmel) sounds so manly, heroic and like a man with balls does! It's pointless to have a conversation with them, so just ignore it.

Lol you guys are really upset with that sentence?

The meaning is that you heard Japanese words and don't understand their meaning without subtitles. That's it..

Yeah, there really isn't much to it. She just means it wouldn't do you much good because it's likely you wouldn't be able to understand.

Does anybody know what the corresponding line is when you have the Japanese voices on? The menus are all voiced, and the Japanese VA says something when you highlight that option.

No offense, but I think you may be reaching a bit here. It's just a line they threw in to spice up the dialogue a bit so that Chi Chi wasn't saying only 'This changes the language'. I highly doubt any malice was meant in any way.

Really? All this means is that you won't understand the language =/. It's not meant to jab at the Japanese voices.

Well, that line's really not necessary...

After reading the subject of the post and barely see the picture begin to load, I knew what you was going to talk about. Yeah it is weird that she says something like that, it kind of bothered me as well.

Chi-chi's a bitch. That's something she would say. Case closed. Also, would that stop you from switching voices in the first place?

Had no idea something like that was in the American release. Weird.

Much like the Viz 3-in-1s having the kanzenban cover art, I see this as a decision/implementation with no malice behind it, but it comes across very poorly.

This was also included in the PAL (UK) release so I'm wondering what logic that'd have for people who don't speak (they featured multi European languages) neither English nor Japanese, so...?

It's just a stupid line that should have never been there to begin with.

Came in thinking we were referring to this;

Zangya: Your man's kinda cute.
#18: Skank.

Was... very surprised that was not the case.

Also: Come on, people. You know what's meant by that. I mean, it's still funny, given that Namco is acknowledging the Japanese-centric fanbase by paying for the voices in the first place, but it's a joke.
