Toriyama already confirmed the number of pages Jaco will have (217, I think). So, he's either already got the whole thing drawn, or he's just planned this series REALLY well in advance. Both are kinda out of character for the Toriyama we've come to know. =P

Do you think Toriyama has already draw all the 11 chapters and sent them to Shueisha before the first was even released or is he still drawing them right now?

My guess is that if he isn't completely done, he's at least very far ahead, allowing him to work at a more leisurely pace. I can't imagine him agreeing to go back into a hectic, weekly schedule.

If Jaco really is going to be the revival of Dragon Ball, Toriyama probably began working on this after it became apparent that Battle of Gods was a success.

The series is officially released bilingually in a plethora of counties each Monday from Shueisha and Viz. Chapter 3 was just included in the Japanese and English WJ 2013 #35 issues. If you can read this post, you can read the English release, and there is a damn good chance you can buy it. Requests for bootleg scans will not be tolerated.

Not that anyone specifically did, but it was close, and I'm just tossing it out there.

Read up to chapter 4 and to say the truth, I love new Toriyama stuff, but I'm not much amused. But well, it's first few chapters, so let's see where is this thing heading to....

The landscape looks eclectic in a disorienting kind of way. DB-style buildings sit alongside western-style (both older and modern) housing. You've got medieval knights, ninjas, witches, 60's-style go-go girls, modern-day outfits, and people dressed in traditional/historical Japanese clothing all co-existing. It looks nothing like DB's East City, so...big costume party/halloween(?)/time-warp-accident? Plot-device, puzzle, or stuff-Toriyama-drew-because-he-felt-like-drawing-it? Also, no flying cars; they've all got wheels.

It's like this all of Toriyama's manga, eclectic. That's just Toriyama's style.

When it comes to Toriyama and continuity, I think we should expect inconsistencies. And that's without factoring in the huge amount of time between Toriyama's last DB manga and this project.

The UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Japan: all receiving an official release of Jaco... and all part of America! U!S!A! (and canada) U!S!A! (and canada) Sorry to everyone who lives in an area without an official release, but it seems pretty clear that you'll need to make a decision about that on your own-- and then mum's the word. This is now an American expression. Long live the emperor-king-president-guy-lady!
