I'm enjoying these too. I haven't heard many opinions on the films, other than the more popular ones.

"Over saturation is easy. Just drag the slider to the right and there you are: instant interest. And certainly, the majority of the public likes saturated color images. In fact, if you want to quickly create a popular image, simply over saturate the colors and increase the contrast. While you may not achieve a sophisticated image, you will achieve an image that will please a less demanding audience." - Alain Briot

This movie has some degree of complexity in the plot and has stuff other than battle going on. Some of them are 1: strong bad guy appears 2: strong bad guy is defeated after an entire movie of fighting. 1 and 3 are pretty good in this respect too, and 13 is possibly even better. I like movie 2 because it actually has a plot.

Movie 2, to me, is one of the best out of the entire lot. It's got some incredibly exciting fight scenes, though somewhat brief, and the setup this time is reminiscent of Goku's descent up muscle tower, but doesn't feel like an outright retread.

We also get plenty of atmosphere and a villain that is very different from anything the franchise will see until Dr. Gero arrives, and even then it's not 1-to-1. The minions are also very well designed, matching Toriyama's well established aesthetic while not looking like -any- of his previous characters. They're bright, colorful, but scary. Sure, they lack personality, but they make it up in design.

Lastly, the animation in this one is freakin' fantastic. Sure, it's not to the level of Movie 1, but it's still got a lot going for it. Those fights are incredibly well executed, particularly Goku VS. Piccolo.

It may be my favorite DBZ movie!

It's one of my favorite Z movies. I love the choreography of the fight scenes, and overall it felt more like old school Dragon Ball with the music, storyline, and use of secondary characters.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Goku's back-kick on the Bio Warrior is still the most badass kick in DBZ history. Also, when Goku clotheslines the guy into the ground...oh, goosebumps.

The fight choreography is simply excellent here. I don't think I've enjoyed any other sequence in DBZ more than this one.

I find the whole movie dull. I haven't seen the movie in a long time and I remember being bored by the whole movie. Uiro is a pretty cool villain and I have a soft spot for him for being something different. Everything else about this movie was totally forgettable.

I really like this movie, the misterious beggining, of Gohan and Oolong along with Piccolo fighting Saibaimen and getting caught (wait, what) to Koshin going to Kame House to lure Roshi in. Then the fights with him vs the Bio-Warriors, man, why wasn't Roshi used more in the movies, look at that old man holding those 3 guys...but then he loses, too bad. Still, the end is pretty meh (tho I do love Gohan and Piccolo going in to fight Willow with Krillin failing in the process), I just never liked Small Genki Dama to begin with.

It would work so much better, strangth wise, if it were before the Arrival of Radditz. Just change Goku's clothes, and change the Spirt Bomb into a regular Ki Attack, and the Kaioken into a generic powerup.
