DBz should have been made by Disney

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Yeah, the best thing about his 2nd death is you'd be like "he won't be revived back this time" unlike the first one which Kuririn even said that he will bring him backKingofWisdom wrote:It's sad, yeah. All though it's hard to have dramatic tension when they're saying he'll be revived before he's even dead. But I do love Kuririn's scream when Goku dies.DonZ wrote:I think Goku's first death is sadder than his 2nd death (more like sacrifice) against Cell. that's so unpopular
anyone agree or i'm the only one who think that ?
I don't know, the second death is more dramatic, and it's very touching too. I guess I lean a little more towards that one.
but it was so suprising, i didn't thought he was going to die, and Kuririn screaming was so sad, with that amazing dramatic Soundtrack too
Tanaka Mayumi did really good job in this scene
Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I think GT ending is better than Z. it's a mysterious theme kind of ending, there's a lot of questions like .. what happened to Goku? is he dead? why did he left with Shenron? what was Vegeta trying to tell him before he left? how did he showed up in the Tenkaichi Budokai and suddenly disappeared right when pan saw him? (the same thing happened when he met Kuririn and Muten Roshi at Kame House, Piccolo in the other world)
i like how they show Goku's coming back after 100 years, with all the Z fighters being dead except for Pan. the ending in general felt just epic if you asked me. the best thing happened in GT is the ending.
Cell arc ending > Original Dragon Ball ending > GT ending > Buu arc ending
that's how i rank them.

People who died should have stayed dead after being revived once (as in if you die the second time, netiher Porunga nor Shenron can revive you), since it would have made character deaths have more value.

I agree with that to an extent. I mean, what point did Chaozu's revival even have? After his second death, he literally did nothing. His sacrifice against Nappa was the last thing he ever did.Hades wrote:People who died should have stayed dead after being revived once (as in if you die the second time, netiher Porunga nor Shenron can revive you), since it would have made character deaths have more value.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
in the original ending, we didn't get to know what will happen to Piccolo, will he remain evil or become one of the Z fighter. in Cell arc everything was done. Gohan achieved his potential power (SSJ2) Goku passing his legacy to Gohan, Piccolo and Kami became one again, Goku's sacrifice was too perfect and fit to be the end of the series.ABED wrote:Why so?DonZ wrote:Cell arc ending > Original Dragon Ball ending

I felt the Cell arc gave nice closure while the 23rd TB left things more open and free spirited.DonZ wrote:in the original ending, we didn't get to know what will happen to Piccolo, will he remain evil or become one of the Z fighter. in Cell arc everything was done. He actually was involved in things before his second death though. After that he was literally away from the battlefield every time the way Oolong, Puar, and Roshi had been before him.CaBrPi wrote:Chaozu never really did anything, though...Zephyr wrote:I agree with that to an extent. Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I still prefer DB's ending, Goku's alive and happy, he's achieved his goal of winning, defeated the enemy, and now had a bride. The story felt complete. Where Piccolo went was not that important, Goku won, and the implication was clear, Goku was always gonna be there to defeat him. When I read the story, the idea of Piccolo and Kami becoming one never felt like a plot thread that needed tying up.
I know a lot of people love the idea of Goku passing the torch to his son, but Gohan as the hero isn't that interesting to me, and it's more of a position that's thrusted upon him than something he chose. I thought it was implied, if not explicitly stated that Gohan wanted to be a scholar when it was all over. Vegeta's story still feels incomplete at the end of the Cell arc. I know he said he'd never fight now that Kakarotto was dead, but that doesn't feel like a resolution to me.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Cell is my least favorite main villain of DBZ. I find him uninteresting, aside from his concept.

In fact, if you want to quickly create a popular image, simply over saturate the colors and increase the contrast. I agree with Hades about characters dying and staying dead the second time. At least when Goku came back the second time, Old Kaioshin had to give him his life.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Yeah, his concept is the reason why i like him. the way he upgrade to perfect body by sucking #17 & #18 was amazing. and i like his design too, it's full of details. Toriyama did a good job with it!KingofWisdom wrote:Cell is my least favorite main villain of DBZ. I find him uninteresting, aside from his concept.
as for personality, i like Freeza and Majin Boo the best.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I like that first form Cell would sneak attack and retreat instead of the type of villain who says, "No, I'm the strongest..." despite evidence to the contrary.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I think Cell is really different and unique than the other villains of DBZ, how he started weak and got stronger and stronger, and the fact that he have to suck the androids to achieve it -which are the opponents of the arc- just made it better. and that's why i like Android arc more than Cell arc, as Cell arc i mean when he start his "Cell Games"

It kind of irks me that Goku stopped donning the Turtle School symbol.

I wish he did as well, but I imagine not having the Turtle symbol was easier to draw his gi.rickysha wrote:It kind of irks me that Goku stopped donning the Turtle School symbol.

I always viewed it as him trying to establish himself as a more independent fighter. No longer just a student but an established warrior. Or something like that. At least he still dons the basic outfit and colors.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I read that and I buy it as the in universe explanation. Though I do imagine that there is something to it being easier to not have to draw the symbols. It's the reason Timm didn't have the Superman symbol on Superman's cape, it's a pain in the ass to animated that especially as it flaps in the wind.Insertclevername wrote:I always viewed it as him trying to establish himself as a more independent fighter.
