Ah damn I need to sort my grammar out in that case, got exams coming up -.-. Maybe Funimation has psychologically hypnotised me with their commercials... And thanks for the info, sorry if I turned out to be a prick! (I hope you understood what I just saidVegettoEX wrote:I guess I still don't understand what it is you're even talking about, other than your being bamboozled by their jive talk about the faux-"remastered" sets and their resolution.
As has been explained, the Amazon listing for a Blu-ray set of DBZ episodes is nothing more than a placeholder page for a product that does not exist (but one that could in theory). At the same time, it's almost irrelevant to even discuss that page OR what the technical aspects of such a release could be... since it probably won't come out. We say this because of its irrelevance -- FUNimation has now placed emphasis on the Dragon Box masters for the DBZ TV series, and in all likelihood will push Kai as the "HD version" of the series.
Any previous masters they own/created are basically, like I said, irrelevant.

Actions have reactions so don't be quick to judge, you may not know the hardships that people don't speak of.

Sorry for the necro bump guys but I've been out of the loop....
What is currently going on with Dragon Ball Z and Bluray releases?
Is the entire series out on Bluray, in either the US or in Japan?
If not, are there any plans to release it?
I am not interested in buying seasons and episodes piece by piece, I'd prefer to simply buy the series in one big box or in large two or three piece chunks.
Is the picture quality *THAT* much better than the dvd releases?

Nothing. Funimation's Blu-Ray sets were canceled, and Toei's not released any.OutRun2 wrote:Sorry for the necro bump guys but I've been out of the loop....

You're never going to get a singular box set from Funimation. It's a 291 episode show ...
As for the picture quality, yes if properly mastered the Blu-Rays would be the best. What Funimation released was pretty great on BD.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Next time, could you just make a thread asking about the Blu-Rays instead of reviving a THREE YEAR OLD thread, that will honestly only dash peoples' hopes of there being actual news on upcoming releases?OutRun2 wrote:Sorry for the necro bump guys but I've been out of the loop....
