Thoughts on Galaxy Mode?

Post by dbzfan7 » Sun Sep 15, 2013 7:01 pm

I finally got a pre scandal copy of RB2 and originally I thought I would hate this mode for replacing the traditional story, but I actually really like it. I would love to see it come back as an extra mode.

I liked it pretty well, actually. Rather than just giving us the regular old story mode that we get every year, it gave us a fresh, new experience that we had never seen in a Dragon Ball game. I think it was a really good idea.

I liked it very much rather than the crappy short story mode and it gave me a reason to play the game to 100% which I enjoyed throughly.

RB1 made the story mode a bit dull to play because of the stars/coins needed to unlock arcs and UB's due to the quick time events, repetitive destroyed areas and little to no actual gameplay.

I really liked RB1's story mode, but the star shit should be scrapped. I prefer just unlocking stuff by simply winning fights or maybe paying for the stuff with points. Either way it's a pain in the ass to earn stars. Ironically hard mode is the easiest star.

The story mode styled battles(With the dialog) was great. People diss this for not being a story and getting old after each character. But to be honest. It was fun to have. Even though I prefer Battle Zone.

It sucks and it's boring, SSW2 did it way way better.

I don't think so. I liked SSW2's what if stories, but it's side modes weren't that good. The only thing that was cool was that some fighters got some god power up that makes them ridiculously powerful. I had such a hard time beating God Broly.

It still wasn't just fighting some cpu's, even if the side stories were poor, they added a meaning of beating the mode, either knowing what the rest of side story is like or simply 100%in a character. Galaxy mode was just...there, It wasn't an old school arcade mode, it wasn't a survival mode, it wasn't a story mode, no, it was nothing, just beating some cpus with stupid handicaps. TBH I found the battle zones to be a much better idea.

(Also...fuck God Goku in the maximum mode, I just can't beat him a second time.)

No i'm strictly talking about the side mode in SSW2 which was is like a mini galaxy mode. I also liked the what if stories. I'm saying the side mode in SSW2 wasn't any good. I liked the challenges in Galaxy mode even if the frustrate me from time to time. IN SSW2 there is no challenge until the God powered characters show up.

I found Broly the hardest as he constantly spams his special attack.

Thing is, when I mentioned SSW2 I was talking about the main mode of the game, you know, the first one everyone goes after tutorial or something, the one that the layouts closely resemble galaxy mode (It's the other way around but you get it). Maximum mode was just like you said, a side mode, and a good one at that, If I'm not mistaken you start with low bp when choosing you chars and get more and you move on right? I liked that idea, that and the CPU was challenging enough to not make it boring.

It's K. I'd still prefer a story mode, but I enjoyed what I got.

I can see how you like the SSW2 Story mode better, but maximum mode seems like a dumbed down Galaxy mode. I liked the different challenges in Galaxy mode while I was always doing the same thing in Maximum mode. Only time things got exciting were when the God Characters showed up. I found the cpu's in SSW2 were far easier to beat.

It was boring and I had no reason to play the rest of it once I unlock everyone. At least the story mode does not put me to sleep.
