Aso say Latin American or LatAM for short, Latino sounds weird and even a little on the offensive side.
But I´m latin American, how can I be offensive to myself :P

The Movie seems to be a success everywhere it goes, Ismael Larumbe, Tienshihan´s Latin American voice actor posted on his facebook that Battle of Gods made twice the sucess of movies like Percy Jackson in half the time in Mexico. a fan on his page also said that in his country (El Salvador was it?) already earned like a million in just 3 days.
Haha, I wondered how come you saw the movie with so much people :D And you were in the cinema!
Then I have to ask, as I saw it only at home on TV, how was it on big screen? I never was in cinema on 2D animated movie.
It was AWESOME, even my girl friend ( a friend that is a girl and is no fan of dbz. She does like classic db though) liked it.

However the experience was hindered due to the fact that the sound mixing was terrible ( the sound effects were too loud and the music too low on volume. Regarding the picture there was a lot of ghosting. The audio wasnt surround like all the other movies and seemed low quality which is strange. I think it might be the cinema itself. As some latin american fans have experienced it like this and some others havent. The music and sound effects in the youtube seem fine though.

Sounds like a theatre issue. I own the Blu-Ray and a pretty hefty 5.1 set-up and found the mix to be perfect.
Such a shame when cinemas don't ensure their films are being shown at the highest quality :(

There may not have been "villains" in the strictest sense, but there certainly were antagonists. I think having a Dragon Ball antagonist who isn't a total villain is a nice change of pace, given the previous array of antagonists the heroes faced.
Never said it was a bad thing.
I thought that the action was appropriately built up to. Parallel to all of the humor, Beerus could have snapped at any moment. That's why Vegeta went to the lengths he did to keep everyone entertained. Once the action finally started (Beerus vs everyone) it seemed appropriate to me. Once Goku appears, there's a break in the action, and the new course of action becomes finding out what Super Saiyan God is, so that he can fight Beerus. It is fully known that once the SSj God is found, he would be fighting Beerus. Thus, once Goku transforms into it, the fight would be expected to begin.
Not to sound like a jerk(I'm in a bad mood) but you must of not read my post correctly. I said the OTHER moviers. Not this movie
That guy probably also thinks Veku vs Janenma was funnier than any BoG funny scene, what a moron lol, like most who disliked the movie.....

DBZ haters are cutting their wrists somewhere!

I want to mention some things I liked so much about the movie,

Regarding the movie:

The character development and interaction is AMAZING. Vegeta´s dance scene was funny yes, but the movie really makes you feel that he freaking lost his pride for the sake of the earth!. he himself states this, after Goku finds out he says his respect for Vegeta has only improved because of that, Vegeta protecting Bulma was the final touch to Vegeta´s humanitation before the last episode of Z :).

Goku gets a new insight as he is revealed to be PROUD just like any other Saiyan, as he feels insulted by the fact he needs other´s power to atleast evenly fight a foe. This also tells us why he only uses the spirit bomb as last resort since he needs the power of other people, also tells us that Goku was disgusted at the idea when doing it, just that he didn´t voice it out!.
He also gets a lesson of being Humble by none other than Bills, and by giving up to him he seals the Master/student relationship he has started with Bills. which is immensely emotional.

Bills as a character is amazing, He at first glance is a fearsome villain who freaks out over anything and destroys anything that tickles him, meaning his behavior would be like that of a greek god or some o that. He also has his tender moments like Lecturing Goku when they fight and by lying that he didn´t have enough energy to destroy the earth (he was clearly unscathed). And let´s be honest, his work is to destroy Planets, Galaxies, Solar Systems, every other deity in the 7th universe fears him. of course he wouldn´t even doubt destroying a planet like earth without getting attached to it (like he did with Goku) after, his work can be compared as if you were hired to flame ant nests around the town!. His behavior is perfec to his position!. He also mantains a professional behavior when around others but goes childish when he´s only accompanied by Wiss!.

When Videl reveals she´s pregnant.... amazing momment!. acompanied by great music! nuff said!
There´s much more but that will do for now!

About the Mexican dub:

Goku´s dialogs are simple. as his japanese counterpart is supposed to sound, a nice touch was that after King Kai hit him because of his "arrogance" talk to Bills, he started to forcefully trying to use elegant terms to talk to him, this of course was completely left when he got pissed at him fighting underground. That was a good touch!.

Bill's Voice actor makes him sound a lot like the japanese one! you get that feline sound when he speaks! really gives him more insight as a character.

Also when they finally make goku the super saiyan god, when Gohan brings Videl she tells him "But he/she´s not born yet my love" and that was sweet! by the way in out langue there was no indication wether the baby was boy or girl but I had to translate it to english so had to use he/she! :P (we know it´s a girl though lol)
There's room for only one snake, and one big boss.

Neither of which are movies.
Technicalities. Really, the only discernable difference between the theatrical films and the TV-specials is the film they were stored on. And I'd say those TV-specials are far more theatrical than most of the actual DBZ-movies.

What's the worldwide gross for the movie at the moment? It seems to be doing decent business, especially coupled with home media sales. The movie also seemed to suggest the possibility of more entries into the franchise. After the constant joy I felt watching this, I say bring on more movies!

Likewise. But if they are to make more movies... Please Toei can we get some better animation? It's almost depressing comparing this movie to One Piece Film Z that came out just a few months earlier, which featured both more consistently high quality 2D-animation and used CGI sparingly to a much greater effect. Like, that tracking-shot of Zoro fighting Ain... Pure awesomeness.
By comparison, Battle of Gods... The Hero-sequence looked great. I also thought the CGI kinda worked when they were fighting in the city. And the 2D-animation was on the whole decent. But by god (no pun intended) did the middle section of Beers and Goku's final battle look terrible.

I must admit, the part in the forest made me smile for some reason. I enjoyed that, but the moment Goku flies past the dinosaur...what? That was probably where the CGI stood out the most, and certainly not in a good way. Pretty sure they were using full CG character models for a couple of moments in that scene. Then there's the rocks exploding out into the ocean- that looked terrible. After that, though, everything in the fight is amazing. The sequence underground is one of my favourite scenes in the whole film. I thought they did an excellent job with the choreography and the little effect with the water was also neat.

I loved that part so much. Me my girlfriend, and our friend all thought and said the same thing, "if this was old school Z, you would know what part of that mountain was gonna be destroyed."

Oricon's third week Japanese home video sales:

More exact numbers will hit on Thursday so there is still a chance for the BDs to rank.

Well, Pacific Rim won't be one of those bluray releases that will be interfering with DBZ's sales since it's scheduled for a December 11th release date. Speaking of Pacific Rim, Charlie Day gets voiced by the voice of Trunks in the Japanese dub. I must buy this!! Oh, and I also make a silent cameo in "Pacific Rim". Happily on the Toronto set of Pacific Rim at Pinewood Studios! GDT was awesome!!!

Apparently Battle of Gods was the third best opening of 2013 in Peru. Not bad going. :)

Oh, and it would appear that non-Japanese versions of the film are using the "Engrish" version of Hero

Stupid question coming from a newbie to the DB franchise, but how high is the chance of the US getting it in theaters now? It's been doing amazingly everywhere they've released it, it seems like a no-brainer that it would come to America.

So what did everyone think of the way the first few trailers seemed to mislead us into thinking this was very much an action-focused film? Do you think it was intentional or was it fans reading too much into things? Because I still can't get over how we got such a light-hearted movie after initially seeing stuff like these:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8orqIH0qfc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAyLJq08lZo

Almost kind of nostalgic, even though I know it was only last year. :P So glad they included these on the DVD (minus the TV preview, obviously), I actually really like the vibe I get from the first theatrical trailer.

The trailers to me seem like they'd fit the original, darker version of the script better. I do feel kinda misled, but then I think about all the other misleading campaign stuff BOG had going, like how it was really pushing the fact that they had guest VA's (Shoko-fish was nowhere near as big a character as we were led to think, though imo she handled voicework better than the Olympic athlete policewoman and the sushi chef newscaster) and how under-wraps they kept ssjg's design.

It's difficult for me to be upset though, as I really like how Beers and Whis' personalities ultimately ended up being (Beers cat-tendencies were so entertaining; also his overdramatic "Pudding!!" with him bent back and screaming up at the sky for it was the best kind of cheese) and ssjg is so adorable/pretty...makes it easier for me to forgive the "the mood of these trailers do not fit the end product" element.
On hiatus.

If there's any chance it would be a short, limited release. It's not a Miyazaki movie.

Indeed, nor in fact is the current American fanbase large enough to warrant a wide release. If this was 10 years ago then perhaps.
