Thats a Kamehameha. It has the same lighting/glow as Gohans, and they're doing the same pose. Plus, a rasengan has a ton of swirls within it.
Well honestly there is no beam trail coming from it, it is merely a ball, just like rasengan. Can't be coincidence that the kamehameha is all of a sudden a ball on only Sage Mode Goku...the sides are defined as being a closed circle rather than on Gohan doing the kamehameha, you see that the beam is clearly outlined with blue, with a white center. On Goku's picture you see the blue on the outside creating a complete circle. That is a kamehameha blast in the shape of a rasengan. And if it wasn't rasengan then there was no reason for the screenshot to be posted. They wouldn't give us yet another picture of Goku's kamehameha randomly. They want to show us kamehameha-rasengan. :D

It's one image taken from the trailer when he fires it at Nappa, who is two feet in front of him. Seriously, it's just a normal Kamehameha. There are other images with a beam trail:

Okay cool. I was like Rasengan would be so useless in a game like this...but yeah I kind of like the costume. Looks kind of cool on Goku and it's something new. I mean the look of it. Like he's wearing a robe.

With all due respect. I still think that costume on Goku is ugly as fuck.

So I hear that some of yall are saying that this game only has one combo. Well, I'm here to prove it wrong and I got some proof, and that's from the Goku vs Frieza battle. I've been looking deeply at it a few months ago because I've seen Goku doing different things. Now, if you guys have seen the controls, then you would understand.

http://youtu.be/tai_gDjqVQk

@1:33: You can see Goku doing a basic triangle combo and then cancels into a strike attack, which leads into a meteor chain/teleport chase(as I call it). And you can tell that he did do that because he turned a bit red.

@1:42: Goku does his "foward" gut punch combo then cancels to the strike attack again.

@2:29: We can do a "special step" technique.

@2:34: He can also use his basic combo, cancels to his rush gut-punch combo, and then used strike attack.

And there you have it. If you guys can find more, then that's great. So basically, we CAN do combos..somewhat, they're just in other areas.

Music is very nice when comparing to the generic rock the games were having after yamamoto was fired.
There's room for only one snake, and one big boss.

The look of nearly every Kanzenshuu member when they heard there would be no in game transformations, no local multiplayer, and Super Vegito as DLC.

I have absolutely zero emotions one way or the other about in-game transformations and I understand the technical and gameplay-based reasons for no local multiplayer, but I am indeed mystified over Super Vegetto as DLC.

So... I guess I'm one of the folks that fits right in with the not "nearly every" :).

After Yamamoto was fired, we still had the amazing Ultimate Tenkaichi soundtrack.

Guess I'm the only one on the board still looking forward to this game...

I'm also in the camp of "in-game transformations aren't necessary if the gameplay is solid."

The only two things that make me go WTF are the lack of local multiplayer and DLC Vegetto, but they're not deal-breakers for me just yet.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

It really takes me out of my immersion in the game when I can't transform myself at will. I would be fine if the gameplay made up for it, but still be bummed out by the lack of local multi-player and the fact I always have to play 4 vs 4.

According to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8e3VoUvRqaM
We can TECHNICALLY "make" and play as 2 what-if characters:
1. Adult Cell Jr. (Change Perfect Cell's colors)
2. 5th Form Freeza (Change Final Form Cooler's colors)

I'm still waiting for Heroes to do a fifth form Freeza. Devil's Corpse already drew a fantastic design for it, shown here.

I'll give you the Super Vegetto part. The other two things, for me, not so much. It was expected, with this gameplay, in the first trailer.

With that said, poor quality Cell looks poor and should never been seen up close like that. Like every other model in the game.

Yes.

I seriously question how often anyone actually transforms during a fight to be as offended by the lack of it as people seem to be.

Yeah, these models don't look very good up close. I'm personally still optimistic about the gameplay. And the (albeit limited) customization looks like a lot fun. The cards being used as stat changers reminds me a bit of Shin Budokai 2, which isn't a bad thing. I'm defiantly looking forward to this game.
