Favorite Ending Theme Ranking (For TV Series)?

Post by TheBlackPaladin » Tue Oct 15, 2013 3:53 am

So, not counting the movies...rank your favorite ending themes! Here's mine:

1. We Were Angels (DBZ Ending 2)
2. Let's Blast Through This Moment With a Rusty Machine Gun (GT Ending 4)
3. You're Not Alone (GT Ending 1)
4. Don't You See (GT Ending 2)
5. Blue Velvet (GT Ending 3)
6. I'll Give You Romance (DB Ending)
7. Yeah! Break! Care! Break! (Kai Ending 1)
8. Wings of the Heart (Kai Ending 2)
9. Come Out, Incredible Zenkai Power (Z Ending 1)

A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Ooh...tough choice. I'll go with:

1. We Were Angels
2. Let’s Blast Through the Now With a Rusty Machinegun
3. I’m Not Alone
4. I’ll Give You Romance
5. Don't You See!
6. Come Out, Incredible ZENKAI Power!
7. Yeah! Break! Care! Break!
8. Wings of the Heart
9. Blue Velvet

Always loved We Were Angels and Sabitsuita Machine Gun. Very memorable themes for me.

I would rank them like this:

1. I'll Give You Romance
2. Don't You See!
3. We Were Angels
4. Yeah! Break! Care! Break!
5. Come Out, Incredible ZENKAI Power!

1. I'll Give You Romance (DB Ending)
2. Blue Velvet (GT Ending 3)
3. Don't You See (GT Ending 2)
4. We Were Angels (DBZ Ending 2)
5. You're Not Alone (GT Ending 1)
6. Yeah! Break! Care! Break! (Kai Ending 1)
7. Let's Blast Through This Moment With a Rusty Machine Gun (GT Ending 4)
8. Wings of the Heart (Kai Ending 2)
9. Come Out, Incredible Zenkai Power (Z Ending 1)

I'll Give You Romance(and Makafushigi Adventure) has the luxury of feeling very iconic to Dragon Ball and is also just a good song. It doesn't feel like a mistake there are so many covers of that one. The rest are all pretty good until we hit the bottom three, which range from Wings of the Heart being too poppy for my tastes and the other two just sounding off. Machine Gun has cool visuals; I like that at the end of it he's wearing his "end of Z" gi and not the one he wears in GT.

It's good we're not counting the movies. I can't remember half of them. I remember Movie 2 being a rip-off of boogie wonderland, and I remember really enjoying Movie 3, but that's about it.

No. 1 for me would be Blue Velvet. It's really the stand-out, but from there I'm unsure. No. 2 would probably be I'll Give You Romance, followed by maybe Don't You See and then We Were Angels.

For me it has got to be Sabitsuita Machine Gun De Ima Wo Uchinuko above all else. I just, quite simply, adore this piece of music. The visuals just work so well with the music to create what I find to be the most emotive ending theme to any of the Dragonball anime series'.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

1. Sabitsuita Machine Gun De Ima Wo Uchinuko --- This song has so many feels I can't.
2. We Were Angels --- Another emotional one, but eh.
3. Blue Velvet --- I love the jammin' vibe it gives, and the animation is kinda cute.
4. Give you Romance --- I couldn't really decide with this one, since it was used so much that I almost started to dislike it, unlike anime that switch endings frequently.
5, Hitori Ja Nai --- An ending I just never skip, even though it may be on the generic side...
