Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
So I was playing Battle Stadium D.O.N earlier on my Wii (BC-NGC) and the game pretty much relies on the B button for kicks/punches and then Y/X for beams & ultimate attack this made me realise that even though how basic the controls might be it's still a lot of fun to play.
Super Smash Bros. is the same the game isn't deep but it's a huge hit loved by many and used at game tournament to determine the best of the best players.
Here's a video of Melee (Melee's better than Brawl) at Evo 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sy8FeSI-gCM
If Battle of Z can prove that it's also as addictive as SSB/BSDON then I'll definitely enjoy it but I have my doubts.

Some do, some don't. It's nice to have a confirmation, though I'd really like to see Cross Play supported.*

I can tell you right now BOZ won't be anywhere near as fun as Smash Bros Melee.dbboxkaifan wrote:So I was playing Battle Stadium D.O.N earlier on my Wii (BC-NGC) and the game pretty much relies on the B button for kicks/punches and then Y/X for beams & ultimate attack this made me realise that even though how basic the controls might be it's still a lot of fun to play.

So aside from the team battle aspect of the game what does this game have new that I should actually care about?
Is the storymode the same recycled thing that's been done for a decade? Does it have a Hero mode like UT? Does it have anime style cutscenes like UT? Is it coming with a special like Raging Blast 2?
All I really see is the same game again but now with the team battle and the characters from BoG.

Dragonball Z Battle of Z conference that Treevax recorded.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAtsvOVg-WA
Also, Treevax confirms forced 4 vs 4, and Vegito is only Pre order DLC in the comments section. I'll show the original comments that a youtuber asked
Part 1:
Youtuber:
I figured I'd ask you, but did they ever say that Vegito and Bardock are Pre order DLC during your time with them?OR did they say that there was a possibility of unlocking them in the game, or being released later on on PSN/XB Live as DLC? I ask this because in TheGameTagerZ's interview with one of the namco reps', the rep confirmed that goku naruto costume is pre order DLC ONLY and i was wondering if it'll be the same for the other DLC.
Treevax:
Pre-order DLC only indeed. Which is so incoherent when it comes to essential characters like ssj Bejito... -_-'
Part 2
Youtuber 1:Also, is it really only 4 vs 4 forced teams in VS mode ? Or did they express to you that that you can do 1 vs 1, 2 vs 3, etc. I ask this because in a early scan, it showed Cooler+Frieza Soldier as a 2 man team(no other huds) vs an opponents team. (I can pm you the scan if you want a better idea of what I'm talking about)
Youtuber 2(in response to Youtuber 1): u can do uneven teams like 1 vs 4
Treevax in response to Youtuber 2:No you can't, I asked. You team must be 4 characters.
Also, according to Treevax on facebook
1. The demo will have 4 missions
2. Ultimate moves like Genki dama will kill all of your opponents team.
3. Tenkaichi HD collection remains a possibility in the future
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nostal-T ... 5043468648
1.
DBZ Battle of Z producer confirmed during the conference that the demo would propose 4 missions. I really encourage you guys to test this free PSN/XBL demo in december in order to make up your mind definitely. PS: The "Gokû edition" will contain a making-of artbook along with the figure.\
2.
A little additional info about Battle of Z's Ultimate attack mechanics : When you finish a fight, you can "give your remaining energy" to other players. By doing so, you gain PP points. These points can be used to buy consumable items, and one of them is the ultimate attack one. It's very expensive, and you can only use it once. During the fight, you can start gathering the Genkidama energy, while your support characters must protect you so you don't have to cancel it. Though... When you throw it, ALL of your opponent team dies immediately.
3.
I've been able to meet Hashimoto-san (producer of DBZBOZ) yesterday. He bypassed all of my questions, but when I came to present some arguments about the Sparking franchise popularity, he answered me that making a Tenkaichi HD collection remained a possibility for the future (in spite of the copyright issues Namco Bandai told us about in february 2013). I though it could interrest you.

Old commnet but:
And yeah, I've not been able to get hyped at all for this, which is odd. I have a PS3 now, this is a new DBZ game... but... *shrug* I'm more interested in Ultimate Tenkaichi, despite all the complaints I've seen for it, than this. Not really sure what it is, exactly, though a lot of little things are putting me off more and more (forced 4v4, DLC only Super Vegeto, no in-game transformations). But it goes beyond those, and I'm just not sure what it is. I'll probably get it anyway, just for Beers and Whis.
And, seriously, giant core metal Cooler as a character? Yeah, that's even more 'bottom of the barrel' than Freeza Soldier.
Uh, no. People complained when BT revealed no in-game transformations. Complained a lot, and loudly, and I was one of them. You've apparently just forgotten. (Also: BT1's gameplay was far from fun.)EXBadguy wrote: Heck, Spike didn't include transformations back in their first DBZ game and nobody gave a shit back then cuz the gameplay was fun and refreshing(at the time), so what happened? Why are we being so hard on Artdink?

Why don't we have in game transformations again? If I recall this is the PS3. I understand data has a limit. But if Budokai one can have in game transformation why can't BOZ? Does it does with data? Graphics? Gameplay?

Just curious but why do we need a HD collection of Tenkaichi? If you have it on PS2(All 3 or 2/3 games) then I don't see why making it in HD and on Ps3 would change anything.miguelnuva1 wrote:Please let Tenkaichi HD come out.

We all know what's the reason they gave but honestly if they wanted to have in-game transformations they could.TheGmGoken wrote:Why don't we have in game transformations again? 1 or 2 characters transform while the other 2 defend and attack the opponent < Why not use this?!
Are you saying that even if Spike came back that they couldn't do better than Tenkaichi 3? That shows how much people believe in their beloved developer.miguelnuva1 wrote:Please let Tenkaichi HD come out.

Two thing's for sure, you wouldn't be hearing Super Survivor (Tenkaichi 3) in Tenkaichi HD Collection or the entire Budokai Score that's in Tenkaichi 1.

I guess they wanted to save them in a possible sequel just like the first Sparking game did. I know having no in-game transformations is going to be the biggest game flaw since most of them might play the same.TheGmGoken wrote:Why don't we have in game transformations again? I'd love to have one. I no longer have a PS2, and my PC can't handle emulating the games, at least not as much as I'd play them. Besides, we've got the Budokai collection, may as well have these to match.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I'm assuming because having up to 8 characters on screen at the same time is already enough data being used up. If all 8 characters had a bunch of tier data for transformations; for example Goku SSJ-SS3 or God, that would be 4-5 separate tier data packages (for lack of a better term), and multiply that by 8; the game would crash. It worked in other games better, even the ones with team fights, but of course it's still 1v1.Hellspawn28 wrote:I guess they wanted to save them in a possible sequel just like the first Sparking game did.
