I'd like to know what names they used and how they spelled them. I wanna see what they do for the Hong Kong DVD/BD too actually, what if they call Goku "Sun Wukong" the whole time?

In Cantonese, we call him 孫悟空 ("Suen MM-hong"). You're confusing yourself with Mandarin. Interestingly enough, Piccolo's name in all Hong Kong iterations (comics and anime) is somewhat different. Instead of phonetically bastardizing his original name, They literally translated his name 笛子魔童 (dek jee moh tung). Or just 魔童 for short. 笛子 meaning "piccolo" and 魔童 meaning "demon child", sort of a translation of "Ma Junior".The Time Traveller wrote:I'd like to know what names they used and how they spelled them. Sankei Shimbun, a Japanese newspaper, says that BoG is set to be screened in 26 countries in total (not including Japan.)

Does he mention any of the European countries, Kei, or did just gave the number and left it at that?
I doubt it will be shown in Poland, but one can dream, right?

Isn't the line Goku says to Beers right before Goku goes Super Saiyan: "Destruction ain't something to take pleasure in." or something along those lines? I just saw a fansub that said "Don't give me the pleasure of destroying you." That instantly stood out to me. Is that line just easy to mistranslate? Or am I just wrong about what is said in the original line. Although, I guess it might be a bad fansub, since when Beers responds to Goku's comment about ranged attacks he says "We're not playing sports."

Sports can be heard in the spoken dialouge in Japanese. So that is accurately translated. But, the destruction line seems to be a tad off. I would trust the translation that has been here on Kanzenshuu for a while.ShadowDude112 wrote:Isn't the line Goku says to Beers right before Goku goes Super Saiyan: "Destruction ain't something to take pleasure in." or something along those lines? You mean someone translated that line on here? I doubt this site has a subtitle track for the movie.SSJ4 Furanki wrote:Sports can be heard in the spoken dialouge in Japanese. This link doesn't give my the ability to pre-order it. Has it been taken down, or have people just been waiting to pre-order?VegettoEX wrote: Very cool. Here's a link to the North American version of the site for those of you interested in ordering (the above is the Chinese site which won't ship internationally). Free shipping, too! -

I was able to successfully pre-order it when I posted that link, but yeah, I no longer see it available for pre-order/sale. Nothing is coming up with any search terms, either. Very odd.
Haven't gotten a cancelation e-mail about it or anything, but I'll keep folks apprised if I do!

That pre-order link still works when you switch back to the Hong Kong yesasia site. Still available for pre-order everywhere except USA and Canada. But yeah, same for me. I pre-ordered it when it was available and haven't received any email from yesasia about cancellation.

Since Eva 3.0 is going to be release in select theaters then we can hope BOG will soon in the next year or two.

I think it's funny how 3.0 did so much bettter than BoG in the Japanese Box Office, but here in the US it would be the opposite (Then again, if I had to choose between seeing a new DB movie and 4.0....I'd probably see 4.0).Hellspawn28 wrote:Since Eva 3.0 is going to be release in select theaters then we can hope BOG will soon in the next year or two.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
So I just figured I'd ask this here... There is this one, admittedly rather throw-away line by Whis that I'm having a bit of trouble making heads or tails of. It's when he tells Beers that most of the surviving Saiyans are on Earth, and he refers to the planet as "yonsen-sanjuu-ni no midori no happyaku nanajuu nana wakusei"

So what do these two numbers + green even mean anyway? Are they meant to be the coordinates of the planet? Is he saying that there are a grand total of 4032 green planets in the universe of which Earth is the 877th? Is it like planet 877 in the green sector of quadrant 4032? I can't seem to figure it out, and if anyone could give me a hand here, that would be most appreciated.

Literally, it looks like it says "The 877th planet of the 4032 Green." So yeah basically what you said. I'm guessing the "Green" are the planets with life on them?Vegard Aune wrote:So I just figured I'd ask this here...
