...Huh. Didn't even think about that. This makes the decision all the crazier and possible to bite them in the ass, youch.TonyTheTiger wrote:Maaaaybe he plays by the rules but then you've just given one of the most powerful and dangerous beings in the multiverse access to the Dragon Balls if he manages to win.
Could be. I hate to jump to conclusions, but...maybe Ginyu has jumped into Dai Kaioshin's body, and he has reasons for this?rereboy wrote:I also think that the Dai Kaioshin's decision is unnatural. Maybe there's some secret objective in the tournament?
Anyway, I'm still kind of two minds about Boo's continued involvement in the tournament. It's a bit stupid to keep him around, but I expected it the minute that he asked for the chance to stay. It would have been jarring if he'd asked and they just went 'lolz, no', to me anyway.

Ah well, just sit back and enjoy the show. If Buu causes everything to go to hell, so be it.
Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.

Well, I do have a tumblr blog of fanart and nsfw DB stuff. The hentai comic of Chichi and Bulma fusion is not mine... but I'm determined to draw my own.Skar wrote:Hello! I was browsing DBM and found this pictures you drew.

I remember seeing your name here so I was wondering if you had deviantart or a place I could find your other work? These were awesome! There was a hentai Chi Chi/Bulma fusion but I'm not sure if that was yours.
OMG! That happened to you too?!Skar wrote:Ya wanna know how I got mine? After my friend Goku defeated King Piccolo I went off to train for three years. I fell asleep in the desert and woke up with scars on my face! I never found out the cause but I have a feeling my cat Puar had something to do with it since he was the only creature around for miles.FoolsGil wrote:There's too many scars to go around...
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Did we really get much info about the Dai Kaioshin in the original manga anyway, though? Maybe he's taking the shonen approach, thinking that it might humble him to lose. After all, they imprisoned Buu before they had to deal with him the way our prime universe did.rereboy wrote:I also think that the Dai Kaioshin's decision is unnatural. (did I really just use "prime" to describe dragonball? wow.)
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Well, even Dai Kaioshin admits that this goes agaisnt all of their policies. In fact, we know, thanks to that special chapter, that these Kaioshins went the extra mile to prevent any threats from arising. And yet they are allowing this tournament to happen with some contestants that are even more dangerous than the threats they prevented in their universe. And now, Dai Kaioshin is even permitting Buu to continue on the tournament despite what he tried to do. Seems incoherent and fishy.bkev wrote:Did we really get much info about the Dai Kaioshin in the original manga anyway, though? In my opinion, its either an indication that there's more to this tournament than meets the eye or its just a mediocre/bad plot point.

Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Saligir's writing may be getting better if this is a hint. This is also not the first time that Dai Kaioshin has allowed Buu to get away with things either--look back at Buu's tantrum during the music interval.

I also like how he just unilaterally volunteers Gast to hold Buu captive until his next match. Unless they have some other way to restrain Buu, Gast is going to be fighting King Piccolo while holding a gooey pink basketball in one hand.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Also, unless it was just random artist interpretation, there were specific people who were able to resist being captured by Buu.
You'd have to go through the pages carefully to check, but I recall it was Cell, Prince Vegeta, Bra, and a few others.

I guess Salagir doesn't know what Omnipotent is since he called Buu Omnipotent. Anyway Vegito is acting as expected but I don't know why Dai Kaioshin wants to let Buu stay, they have no idea if Gash will even be able to restrain him a second time of if Buu or any other universe will be able to be sent back.

I was expecting them to send him back, only for him to later crash the last match by screaming his way back. Like his ROSAT escape on steroids.

To be fair, most fictional beings described as "omnipotent" really aren't. Especially when you get into such stupidity as "different levels of omnipotence" and such (...saying "a higher-level omnipotent being" is like saying "Infinity +1"... it's just the same damn thing as regular ol' infinity. Omnipotent = infinite power = highest you can possibly go, by definition. If you want something to be even stronger, just don't use the word "omnipotent" in the first place!)I guess Salagir doesn't know what Omnipotent is since he called Buu Omnipotent
I'm pretty sure he wasn't actually trying to say that Buu is literally omnipotent here, anyway. Dai Kaioshin said "Buu is used to being an omnipotent god in his own universe"... as in, Buu's used to being the absolute most powerful thing around where he comes from, so he basically gets to make the rules back home (since nobody can stand up to him, and anyone with enough power to even think about it has been absorbed already), as if he was the omnipotent "capital-G God" of that universe... even though he (like everyone else) technically isn't "omnipotent" at all. Someone insanely strong can seem omnipotent sometimes when everyone else around is just that much weaker than them.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Omnipotence in this case refers to complete power over everything in his universe.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."
