Oh man, rest in peace.

How does this relate to Dragon Ball?
He was married to voice actress Masako Nozawa, who will be his chief mourner during his memoral services this weekend.

That's precisely why ordinary men pursue the concept of perfection, it's infatuation. But ultimately I have to ask myself "What is the true meaning of being perfect?" and the answer I came up with was nothing. Not one thing. The truth of the matter is I despise perfection! If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Nozawa has lost a close friend and her husband during only a few days. I feel really sorry for her... :( I wish Nozawa won't lose her vitality.

Damn, I feel bad. If only the Dragon Balls were real.

How awful...

It's not nice when people get old and are faced with a lot of death around them, but I think in these situations you just have to be thankful that the deceased were lucky enough to have lived such long and fruitful lives.

Damn.

I only knew his voice work from Higurashi but he was very good from what I recall.

Sad news and of course, poor Nozawa. This hasn't been the best of weeks for her.

How sad. It's strange, though. For all this time, for some reason, I never thought about her being married. Somehow, it just never occurred to me she would be.

I've seen Higurashi season 1, but don't remember much about his character, however I recognize General Grumman from Fullmetal Alchemist, and his role as Toto in the Alabasta arc of One Piece certainly sticks out to me. It's such a shame to see this happen.

I'd only known him as Bleach's Genryusai Yamamoto, and I'm very sad to hear he passed away. :( He made for a perfect Yamamoto. At the same time, it is nice to hear about how he was on the set.

God, this sucks.....for his fans, his friends, his family, and especially Masako. It does at least sound like he lived a good, long life, but still, it's incredibly unfortunate that this happened, especially considering how close his death is to Ichiro Nagai's. May he RIP.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

This is horrible. 74 is too young.

I must admit, I'm not familiar with Tsukada's most popular work. Thus, I did mostly think of him as "Hey, that guy's Masako Nozawa's husband!" But I do remember him playing the Mamemon Village Elder in episode 41 of Digimon Frontier. I can still hear his performance in my head without even having to re-watch the episode, so I guess that speaks volumes about his acting ability if he left that much of an impression.

Rest in peace.

I'm really, really worried about Nozawa. Losing a spouse affects people in so many horrible ways. I really hope her family and friends take care of her and stay with her during this tough time.

First Ichiro Nagai dies just a day ago and now Masaaki Tsukada. I feel bad for Masaako Nozawa.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

That was my first thought last night when I saw your Tweet. I was afraid this might be a little morbid, but damn if I don't fear it might happen.

It's a shame Tsukada never joined the Dragon Ball family beyond probably showing up for cast parties. I would have loved to see him voice a character here. His work in Bleach was awesome.

Terrible news. My condolences go out to Masako Nozawa and her family and I hope that Goku's spirit will continue to shine through in Nozawa in the wake of such tragedy.

This just seems to be a week of passings. First Ichiro Nagai passes, now this.

Damn, I feel for Masako Nozawa. After reading this week's Bleach I see this terrible news in the comment section. I was truly shocked and immediately pictured a saddened Nozawa. He was the VA of old man Yamamoto. They were both so talented and shared the same passion. The must've had so much fun together. R.I.P. Tsukada Masaaki.
