I would give it to Burst limit but I have to deduct points for how bad Freeza's English voice was but burst limit's gameplay was totally perfect capturing the fast yet tediousness the fight in the show was, constant teleporting and rabit combo countering. I loved the gameplay... then the background music exclusive to that fight felt very meaningful and very well composed.

Budokai 1 no doubt has the most effort put into the cutscenes though and the dialogue though inaccurate was equally servicable. it goes above and beyond for the character's facial expressions (something Spike has no concept of) and probably nails everything it tries to present as it did.

If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

Burst Limits. That shit got me going. With the back ground music. That voice acting(English dub). That earthling name...."IS KRILLIN!"

"NOW I"M TRULY ANGRY! FREZZZZZZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

Such badass-ness.

He has good taste though, far better than the generic crap we get now.

I take it that you don't like new video game scores? I doubt all his work was a rip though.

No I don't like the music we get now, the quality just felt cheapened. There is no creativity put into them at all. The Budokai series has probably the most iconic soundtracks in the franchise because of how it was put together, catchy beats, build up, chorus and variety in sounds. Wether it be plagurized or not, its sad that that area was the only time where the entire soundtrack in a DBZ game was consistantly all likable. Where as now adays I only like 1 or 2 songs at most. Now adays the music just feels like generic, repetitive, simplistic rock riffs with no beat at all.

I do wish we'd go back to the orchestra like tracks from the budokai games
