Video Game Shadding(MOD THREAD)

Post by TheGmGoken » Fri Feb 14, 2014 7:24 pm

I love mods of video games as they're nice to look at and even better to play with. This user named RedStrikerBR is a modder and does shadding mods. He even made BATTLE OF Z character models on Infinite World :o .

PGV used to make his own AF mods for Budokai 3. I'm surprise that he is active since I give up on his AF project years ago.

I subbed. Not bad. Do you use a PS2 or a Wii? Also you can share other mods and stuff. But can we please talk about the Shadding? I'm thinking about re-titling the Dark-Markio and Kikchkiu thread to "The All Purpose Video Game mod Thread". Anyone think that would be bettter?

I used to a PS2 to mod, I don't really do a lot of modding these days. Once you've learnt everything it isn't as fun. I you wan't to talk about shading, then I will say it's possible to import Budokai 2 characters into Budokai 3 and Infinite World and change the shading to make it fit in better.

What would you use for graphic editing like that? I've managed to do some audio hacking with DKZ Studio. But audio seems to be all it's good at for editing.

In RB2 I took off some shading from Bardock and he turns into RB1 Bardock

But trying to take it off a Super Saiyan does things like this (All from the same disk)

Use a tool called game graphics studio, it's good for graphic editing with Budokai 1-3 and Infinite World.

In PGV's Budokai AF, he has Nappa going SSj4. SSj Nappa is fine, but SSj4 is overkill in my opinion.

No problem, I'm happy to help.

I do respect PGV, veku and that lot for what they do and have done for the modding community. But unfortunately they're part of that crowd. SSJ9s, 0s and every saiyan under the sun being super saiyan god. Granted I was like that once, and it's fun to have those what ifs, but there comes a point where it gets a little too much.

I respect the guy too since I was a member of this forum for over a year from 2007 - 2008 and I remember I try to do submit some voice work for him for his AF series that never kick off. He promises stuff and he fails to promise it.

Seems odd that he couldn't do that. Replacing voices is actually pretty easy. I've been doing it myself with Battle Stadium DON and redubbing Freeza on my own rip of Infinite World. Also did some music hacking of Tenkaichi 2. Also managed to return the original OST into Tenkaichi 3, even replaced the instrumental opening with the vocal opening too.

I believe he's talking about his actual animated AF series, not the game.

Are there any tutorials around on how to achieve this shading on Tenkaichi 3?
DragonFlick Z 2.0 in the works.. if you are a Dragonball Youtuber, feel free to get in touch.

How do you replace the voice files?

@VeggieXD: That would make sense then, haha! Animating is not easy.

Using DKZ Studio 0.91b (it's in English, would be much easier to get around), you would have to convert the .wav's you recorded into whatever format the game uses. Like Battle Stadium DON uses 480000Hz Mono .adx, while the Sparking and Dimps games uses 240000Hz .adx. Usually they're contained in AFS files. I haven't found all audio yet. But, an example of what the final result can look like (sorry for the shoddy recording, the emulator only records video. Which would defeat the purpose of showing new audio): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09g9pbIho5A

If it's not against the rules. I may post an in-depth tutorial on how to replaces voices/music, or even how to re-replace the replacement music in Sparking! Meteor.

Wow that's amazing. I know how to change the BGM just not the damn voices. I want Chris Ayers as Freeza. Can't stand Linda Young. But I use the Wii. But I heard to process is VERY similar.
