15 pages is too long? Its not even a whole chapter of a weekly manga...TheGmGoken wrote: The pacing of the story in order for the plot to continue. Honestly this fight could had been summed up in a shorter amount of time.

Actually some are......I hope you know that right?rereboy wrote:15 pages is too long? Its not even a whole chapter of a weekly manga...TheGmGoken wrote: The pacing of the story in order for the plot to continue. Honestly this fight could had been summed up in a shorter amount of time.
To long for this fight then yes. The plot barely moved forward. I mean in most manga-anime fights you get plot moments from a fight in 3 pages and 15 minutes of fighting. I even took a break from the manga for a few weeks(A month and 2 weeks) and still the plot barely moved forward.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
As you should know, a normal chapter from a weekly manga is 18 to 23 pages.TheGmGoken wrote:

And, ONCE AGAIN, you are complaining about the release schedule, not about anything else. Things didn't advance much because there's only 3 or 4 pages released per week. That's it.

But this is a Dragon Ball fan manga, and Dragon Ball had an average page count of like 14.rereboy wrote:As you should know, a normal chapter from a weekly manga is 18 to 23 pages.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
It depended, but I was just putting things in perspective anyway. Arguing that a fight is taking too long when, at most, its as long as one short chapter of a weekly manga doesn't really make much sense.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:But this is a Dragon Ball fan manga, and Dragon Ball had an average page count of like 14.rereboy wrote:As you should know, a normal chapter from a weekly manga is 18 to 23 pages.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
This special started perfectly, spending one-two page at stuff that we already know, but then, they had to show entire fight with Zarbon, with, in my opinion, wasn`t necessary at all. My favorite pace special, is still Kaioshin one.

I get that the specials help stall for time while the artists draw the original story, but this is getting ridiculous. It's like they're now doing a special every other chapter. >.>

Freeza in this universe is in his 4th form. SSj Goku in this Universe must be strong enough to push Freeza to his 4th form. Trunks is not born in this Universe given that Vegeta died much earlier. Freeza most likely destroy the Earth a few years before #17 and #18 arrive.RandomGuy96 wrote:If Goku went SS here when he arrived, he'd be one-shot fodder to Freeza, even if the latter chose to use less then 10% of his power.

If Goku went Super when he first arrived on Namek, he'd be at 4.5 million, which is strong enough to force Freeza into his final form.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
YES! FINALLY! IT'S OVER! Now maybe the special can actually tell us something we don't know.
I like the general idea of this fight- wearing Zarbon down with tricks (surprise attacks, distractions, Solar Flare, Kienzan) and teamwork to overcome his tremendous battle power- but it really, really didn't need to be this long. Hell, even the length isn't THAT bad for the fight itself; it has much more to do with the release schedule and, to a greater extent, the format of the special it appears in. A 15-16 page fight takes up a whole lot of space to tell us something that should already be fairly obvious, and it wastes pages that could be better used explaining the more interesting stuff about this universe.
At least it's not just another massacre special, like the Kaioshin, Saiyan Cell, and Bojack ones. Yet.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The fights aren't long at all, it's the way that the chapters are released that ruins everything and makes it feel like it's going on forever, and the fact that the fights are boring in the specials.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

My issue with specials is that they are just filler. They release specials three days during the week when they could just release them as one big chapter since they hold off the man story.

Not likely. He's not even in beast form anymore.

I'm expecting a Saiyan Arc Vegeta moment here: Zarbon getting back up and Gohan scared that he wasn't killed after that. Nail will probably arrive and finish him off before he can do anything else though.

I was actually envisioning something similar, but different, if Zarbon's still alive - he gets back up, starts to attack, and gets potshotted from afar by an energy blast from Nail, ala Salza in movie 5.

With that route they would have to spend weeks or months without releasing anything since they are working on main story chapters as the special chapters are released.Hellspawn28 wrote:My issue with specials is that they are just filler.
