Actually, thinking about it, I'm not sure I agree. I'm kind of curious to see where how scenes will be placed.mikezilla2 wrote:the first airing always felt like it had something missing

I'm guessing that FUNi would have to wait for a Japanese video release before they could get their hands on it. The TV Extended cut of the One Piece Alabasta movie apparently hasn't been released on DVD or Blu-ray, so I hope that's not the case with BOG.Big Momma wrote:I'm hoping that when this finally comes to the US, this will be the version we get.

I hope we will see Piccolo, Kuririn, Yamcha, Tenshinhan, and even Chaozu showing off new techniques they have developed, even if they are useless against Beerus. But I really doubt it.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Anybody think that this ''Directors cut?'' or whatever will make it's way to DVD/Blu-ray?

I'm sure everyone is hoping for it to see a release by Funimation but we can't be too sure as the added material to the One Piece film never saw an official release in the states.samuraix123 wrote:Anybody think that this ''Directors cut?'' or whatever will make it's way to DVD/Blu-ray?

That actually sounds like a really great way to show off many of our favorite/old characters. It would also make sense because they've all been training this whole time! The director's cut of One Piece: Episode of Alabasta has yet to be released on home video. Don't expect it to happen here.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
My guess is that someday they will release a Blu-ray box of movies which includes the extended version of BoG.

While I'm quite happy to know that extra material will be added, I can't personally get excited because I doubt that Goten will get anything to do. I can't help but feel like he was somewhat ignored in this movie.

I did enjoy that most of the characters got at least a second or two of spotlight (Goten reminding Pilaf and co. about Goku, Yamcha noticing the Dragon Ball was missing, etc.), but yeah, Goten was mostly used as fusion fodder, as many of us feared.
Welp, we now know that we'll be getting 20 extra minutes. How exciting; we've never had a "director's cut" for DB before (except for the Kanzenban ending, I guess?).
Hooray for Oolong spotlight! Didn't expect to hear that.

Does anyone remember Toriyama saying in an interview that there was supposed to be a scene where everyone joined Goku in his fight against Beerus, but it was cut out? I hope they've animated that.

Selecta Visión has made the first official announcement regarding the Spanish voice cast: Piccolo's first original VA returns for BoG!
He left during the beginning of Z because of throat problems (he damaged his vocal cords during a scream) but he returned to voice Trunks, and he's a well-known VA now. Sadly, his replacement, who voiced him for the rest of Z and GT, passed away a few years ago.

Pretty sure he(or the director) was talking about the scene where Beers curb-stomps everyone. Basically, everyone was supposed to put up more of a fight but it got too long(and Beers was supposed to use a fork instead of chopsticks).UpFromTheSkies wrote:Does anyone remember Toriyama saying in an interview that there was supposed to be a scene where everyone joined Goku in his fight against Beerus, but it was cut out? If that does get extended, I can't wait for the power level discussions and people pointing out insipid things like "Yamcha got like, four hits, man, how powerful is he really?" I'm ecstatic over it.

It would also be interesting if they showed a bit of Beerus and Whis sparring, which is possible considering the official comments about the extended footage.

So I was right, we will find out more about Whis' and Beerus' unic relationship. I've never really hope that my wish will come true. I really expect to see someting really interesting such:
Why is Whis so similar to Kaioshins?
Why is Whis so respectful with Beerus?
How do the Kaioshins not know anyting about Whis' power if they can feel Godly Ki?

Yeah there are a lot of points in regards to Whis and Beerus I would like cleared up as well. Even a few pieces of new information would be appreciated on my end. But I hope they do a better job exploring the characters if there are any future movies.Low Tone G wrote:So I was right, we will find out more about Whis' and Beerus' unic relationship. Really going to be disappointing if we never do get this extra footage on a home release, but I'm still excited to see what all the extra footage is going to tell. 20 minutes is actually a lot of time to add on, they could do quite a bit with that if they do it right.
I'm personally still holding out hope for more Kuririn stuff myself, but maybe that's just me.

holy cow 20 minutes?! thats more than the expected 15 minutes.
Hope most of the time isn't wasted on Pilaf Gang.
About the details, they could at least add the lightning effect to Vegeta ssj2 and Goku ssj3 transformation. Compared to the rest is a easy task.
