Re: Saga of Goku madman DVD for sale?
I have found a few copies, but they only post to Australia. I'll keep looking around.
It is clear that sometime in Mark Satan's life, he acquired the dragon balls and called upon shenlong to grant him immortality.

I could look into doing that.

Can someone explain to me why they'd want this Australia release of DB? What does it offer that other releases don't? Or is this merely for collection purposes? I don't know much about Madman's releases so I'm just curious as to why it seems quite desirable.

They've changed my life - changed the way I act on the earth. Doesn't that make them kind of real? They might be imaginary but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around here long after we're dead. So, in a way, those things are more realer than any of us.

Apparently the madman dvd quality is better then the US blue bricks.

In US the "Saga of Goku" 2DVD set was censored whereas the Australian edition is uncut just like the rest of the Saga sets. That and, it has the grain intact which the Blue Bricks lack and for people that want the detail intact that's not the way to go.RocktheDragon wrote:Can someone explain to me why they'd want this Australia release of DB? Eledore has done a comparison of early and late screenshots Saga Vs. Dragon Box, and for the later ones it's only a slight crop although on the early episodes a good chunk of it wasn't shown (different masters, I presume).
Plus the UK fans are lucky they'll be getting the Saga sets too but in 5 boxsets (yellow bricks) rather than 2 boxes, though.

I didn't realise this set was so sought after. I bought it many years ago before the the first 13 episode were sold in the US off of eBay. I guess it's worth holding onto.

I didn't realize it was sought after either. I shipped mine off to the goodwill about a year ago because I had the season 1 set and didn't have a player that would play it. I would have gladly let someone that wanted it have it. Though...in hindsight, I wonder how mad whatever person picked it up from the Goodwill got when it didn't play when they got home..... Oops!

Re: Saga of Goku madman DVD for sale?
Well, besides the fact that it would complete an otherwise incomplete collection (since, due to licensing issues, it was never allowed to be released in America), it does have the Japanese title cards, which automatically puts it above the season sets as far as I'm concerned. It's choosing one imperfect release over another imperfect release, but considering that, and that I have all of the other Saga sets so that buying season 1 would cause me to overlap, it's the obvious choice.RocktheDragon wrote:Can someone explain to me why they'd want this Australia release of DB? Do you follow the most comprehensive and entertaining Dragon Ball analysis series on YouTube? If you do, you're smart and awesome and fairly attractive. If not, see what all the fuss is about without even having to leave Kanzenshuu:

Re: Saga of Goku madman DVD for sale?
If we take Dragon Ball Z: Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 as an example of singles' collection then Manga UK might do the same for Dragon Ball and then everyone can have the episodes they want for a low price for sure.
Well, there's also the fact if they'll be profitable or not but they'd certainly be considering people would even import it.
