JPN vs US TV

Post by ABED » Mon Apr 21, 2014 7:30 am

In the US, shows have seasons and usually take off during the summer, but what about Japanese shows? Every Dragon Ball series was aired every (or almost) week, necessitating filler. Super Sentai has about 50 episodes per series. Is having an episode that airs every week their model, or just Toei shows?

A lot of anime does this, I can say for sure. Two anime I watch, Pokemon and Tamagotchi have this model, and neither are from Toei, so I imagine it's quite common.

Maybe it's because there is no such thing as a summer holiday as we see it?
