Do they ever air anything uncut?

I mean it's no HBO or Skinemax but it would cool if certain anime would air unedited. I think DBZ was almost uncut back in the day (I think it was some special late-night showing?), but I believe they still censored certain things. So I've heard.

They played DBZ Uncut on Toonami Midnight from what I can remember. I guess BOG might have a chance to air on Toonami in the near future.

You are aware that's an R-rated movie right? Kinda rare those get aired on regular tv unedited, animated or not. And I don't think they edit Bleach, and Shippuden is too unedited on there. (As in they leave titles in Japanese and no translations, but that's Viz being lazy).

Seeing Dragon Ball Z on Toonami again is pretty neat, though it probably doesn't have anything to do with whether the Kai Buu arc will air on Adult Swim or Nicktoons.

Cooler's Revenge is pretty solid all around for a quick fun action movie. The only real complaint I can level at it is that unbearably cheesy scene Goku has with the dying woodland animals. I remember the dub itself being relatively decent. I'm glad they gave Cooler a distinct voice (Toei just had Nakao take the role, meaning they weren't even trying to make Cooler anything more than a movie stand-in for his brother), and I love Salza's over-the-top french accent.

"Shit" wasn't censored and was in fact, left intact. It's the other word that they weren't allowed to use. They bleeped out one instance of the F-Word and then had to make alterations on screen, (I think they edited it to say "Buck"). Adult Swim seems to have gotten to the point really only the "F-word" seems to be censored, though they do have some issues with some sexual insults, if Black Lagoon is any indication. A lot of networks seem to still have issues with that word, as you usually don't hear it outside of Premium Networks, like HBO and the like.

It's worth noting Dragon Ball Kai has at least one instance of the word "Shit" in the dub (which is curious, as I think that particular box set was rated TV-PG), so if that somehow ended up on the block, it wouldn't be censored.

On that note, I could see Dragon Ball Kai airing on Adult Swim in the future... if they expand the block. It would make sense to use it as a lead it, as it's a title that has had huge success in the past, and in fact allowed for Nicktoons to actually pull in high numbers that they've struggled to do so before and after Dragon Ball Kai being on the network. Plus, given that we have gotten information that it seems that the Vortexx seems to have no interest in continuing Dragon Ball Kai come this Fall, it would make sense to get it on a new network, especially is Nicktoons seems unwilling to pick up more of the show or attempt to re-secure the show (assuming they lost it).

What about the "uncut" episodes of DBZ on Toonami? I heard that certain things were edited, even though uncut DBZ is not close to R.

They were completely uncut, at least for the Cartoon Network run. The only episode that apparently was supposed to have been edited was the Princess Snake episode and Cartoon Network played the wrong tape. Apparently the issue with the episode was the full extended shot of Goku's back side while he was naked (which is funny, as they apparently didn't have any problem with the children nudity) and the Russian Roulette Scene. I'd imagine if the Uncut run had continued on the older Toonami, they'd probably have aired the edited tapes for that.

IIRC, Toonami doesn't control (most of) what gets edited. The shows are edited to comply with the FCC standards before being sent to Toonami for airing.

I don't know if anyone knows about this(I'm sure most fans of the american soundtrack do) Funimation screwed Cooler's Revenge up so bad with their ''Remastering'' someone screwed the audio up. song starts and ends in places that it's not suppose too, they even changed Karin and Yajirobe lines. when Gohan leaves with the senzu beans Karin says something a-long the lines of ''there he goes. nice kid huh? Goku's lucky to have him'' then Yajirobe replies ''Ughhh I dunno..but speaking of beans lets make some chili'' that was not Karin's original dub line. that does make sense for Yajirobe to reply like that because originally Karin said I don't remember the first line but after he said ''oh by the way what's a bean daddy?'' that makes sense why Yajirobe replied with making chili. but they changed his lines around...weird  It's really hard for me to explain(I wish my video I had made on this didn't get lost when my computer crashed. I worked my butt off on it.) I would do it again if people actually wanted me too. :P But the main point of all this stuff I typed out here is, Will Toonami get the remastered footage? or the old.

Well this was unexpected and kind of cool. I might actually DVR this just to give it some more support, even though I've got it on DVD. I still feel it's one of the better DBZ movies too, so a good choice for them to nab, even if it now brings up the question even more if they are (or are at least trying) to get DBZ/Kai/whatever back on Toonami.

And yes, I still like the dubbed version with all the rock music in it as well as liking the original score. I think it was this movie in particular that sold me on the fact that I was going to have to have some Disturbed CD's.

Lord Slug and Cooler's Revenge was the reason I got into Disturbed haha

I think this could be a test to see how many people want to see DBZ back on Toonami since DBZ hasn't been on Toonami in over a decade. Ultimate Uncut air on the week days late at the night during the summer. I remember I stay up all night to watch it despite me seeing the series subbed uncut. It was cool to see uncut DBZ on TV late again for me at the time.

You can get away with saying the word shit once in a PG movie. I recall the series uncut only says shit once in the series.

So I was watching Attack on Titan and a Promo came up DBZ Coolers Revenge is going to be airing on Adult Swim next Saturday/Sunday night starting at 12am! It brings up a few questions how is this possible if Nicktoons and Toonzai own the Broadcast/Cable rights? Does Anyone think that Adult Swim/Toonami have bought back the rights or is their some complicated loophole that allows them to air Z on Toonami. I am really hoping they bought the rights back Kai Buu Saga on Toonami would be Awesome!!! I will link to youtube video as soon as it gets posted by someone. :D

I just seen the promo for it on Toonami. it actually looks like they're using the remastered footage? that makes me sad because the US broadcast score is messed it on the remastered version as I was talking about above.

There was Kikuchi music hidden in the promo. We're getting the actual music this time around.

"DBZ: Where it belongs."

...I love this promo, it speaks to me. Toonami's always had awesome DBZ promos then again.

Well, I sold my old steelbooks ages ago, so this will be a good excuse to rewatch the movie.

Awesome to have Kikuchi's score on Toonami (since we only had that for the first two Z films), plus the Double Feature footage.

I wouldn't expect them to EVER release the Music that's not Kuciki (can't spell) as far as the movies go. The show itself is different because funimation owns the rights to the Faulconer dub, so they only have to pay for one version. Instead of paying all those music royalties to bands like disturbed, ETC.

Could it also be that they just used the Japanese track just for the promo since it's silent in a-lot of scenes and that allows them to put their Toonami score over-top of it and you still get the voices and sound effects and it keeps from it having a big audio cluster you know what!? :P
