Mystery Saiyan appears to be taller than Vegeta, so I'd also say Broli with a different personality or something completely random.

That's true. Although since we just established that Vegeta doesn't give two shits about killing them I'm not sure what else would be important enough to handle this way except for someone strong enough to matter.

As cool as all this is, there're probably going to be some trust issues once Vegeta heads back to his group.

All this is showing that what our Vegeta said in the beginning is true about this version. What ever is/was going on with him mentally in U13, he never made peace with it and so, this lunatic we're starting to see now is just the manifestation showing itself.
