Could you see a future DBZ game being ported to the PC?
With the DBZ games finally moving onto Nextgen/current gen, in your view could you actually see future dbz titles(whether it's a Xenoverse 2, or another new dbz game) being ported to the PC? Via Steam and the like? Especially with Naruto UNS3 FB and the newest Naruto game being on the PC as well?
Or do you think that Namco will continue to make DBZ games console exclusives?
In your reasonable view of course. Personally I'd like to see the jump, since it opens the possibilities for mods, as well as different graphical customization options

It's a possibility but I've always been a console gamer so I don't really care for PC games, tbh.
Well, aside from Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit, Dragon Ball: Raging Blast, Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2, Dragon Ball: Ultimate Blast, Dragon Ball: Ultimate Blast - Kinect Edition and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z you can play all the others although through emulators, but in terms of visuals they're far better than they originally looked if the rig is decently powerful.

FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Luso Saiyan

Would I like to see them released for PC? Yes. Will they? I doubt.

It's certainly a possibility. These games are made for a western audience, and the PC platform is lively here.

Seeing how Steam is becoming such a high success throughout these years, plus the Steam console at some point they may release an official Dragon Ball game to kick it off.Super Saiyan Prime wrote:It's certainly a possibility. I personally never thought of a Naruto game being available on PC and now look at it, it's not my favourite game but it's good to see it made its way to the 'Master Race'.

Potentially. Not likely though.
It was a big enough surprise that the recent Naruto game was released on Steam. The Dragon Ball games haven't been popular enough in years to warrant them making an effort. There's simply not enough demand.
Not to mention that PC gaming is barely a thing in Japan. Unless there was huge international pressures for a PC release, it's never happening.

^Yeah he what he said. I play on my PC now then I normally do in the past since I don't have time to play on my consoles as much as I used too. Consoles are more popular in Japan and I don't think there's big enough demand for DBZ games on steam. Namco Bandai and Steam will likely think that DBZ games on Steam will likely sell poorly.

After seeing Bandai Namco releasing Storm 3, and now the upcoming Revolution, for PC, it wouldn't be at all surprising to see future Dragon Ball games getting the same treatment.
Perhaps even starting with Xenoverse later on.

Perhaps it is more of a matter of when rather than if they will or not. I believe they will eventually but perhaps not in the next year or so. This should be taken with a grain of salt being merely speculation. Personally I am a console gamer so it wouldn't effect me too much.

If Zenkai Battle Royal was ported to the PC in the style of the currently in-development Rise of Incarnates, It would be so amazing, during the alpha people kept comparing it to DBZ games and how they would like one in the same style, well Zenkai is exactly what they're looking for.

Naruto is more popular, so I think that's why they got the steam treatment. The older DBZ games from 2002 - current never got a PC release, so I kinda doubt we will see one anytime soon. PC gaming always been big since the 90's. Remember the days of Doom, the original Warcaft, Quake 3 and Counter Strike, good timesRukura wrote:After seeing Bandai Namco releasing Storm 3, and now the upcoming Revolution, for PC, it wouldn't be at all surprising to see future Dragon Ball games getting the same treatment.

Re: Could you see a future DBZ game being ported to the PC?
The Japanese audience isn't the main audience for the console games. According to Dengeki, here's what Battle of Z sold in Japan at physical retailers:
[360] 557 (not a typo)
[PSV] 32,638
[PS3] 45,745
Total: 78,940
This is from the end of February, so the total has probably hit 80k by now.
Bandai Namco reported that 620,000 copies of Battle of Z were shipped to retailers globally. Japan isn't a major market for these games anymore. Evidenced by the 360's SKUs nonexistent sales in that market, they're clearly not adverse to making versions of the games exclusively for western markets. That's what a PC build would be.

Re: Could you see a future DBZ game being ported to the PC?
In Japan it seems that people's preferences are now gearing towards handhelds (3DS, Vita) and smartphones so it's no surprise that the sales for consoles is at such a low rate. I wonder how much the sales would've been for Battle of Z had it had a 3DS version (even if it meant being different from the rest).
Sony is also making Vita into a PS4 accessory (PS4 GamePad) so they aren't really going to invest too much on the device any more since they've seen it's not going nowhere.

I don't see how phone games became so popular? I remember on Gamespot on 2004 - 2006 that people hated mobile games. I'm pretty sure nothing change during those days since things from 2005 - now still feel the same to me.

Re: Could you see a future DBZ game being ported to the PC?
Mobile phones got a lot better, as well as the graphics have become close to the last-gen consoles but they still have one huge flaw which makes them barely playable: Touchscreen controls. If they were controlled using a physical controller they'd just be as good, it's possible but normally the norm is the touchscreen controls.Hellspawn28 wrote:I don't see how phone games became so popular?
