What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
The packaging looks pretty atrocious in terms of colors (bright pink mixed with green? Yuck.), but I'm glad to hear the green tint has been banished from the home media release.

No, it's a small pillar/foot rest in my room. There is a small box underneath it holding it up, you just can't tell from the angle in the photo.dbboxkaifan wrote:Nice you've got it but am I seeing right, did you put it on the ground?![]()

No pictures handy, but I've recently picked up the 1993 "World of Akira Toriyama" exhibition catalogue and the Dragon Ball Z Movie 13 guidebook, filling in a few more holes in my collection. As far as guidebooks/artbooks are concerned, I basically just need the 1995 version of the exhibition catalogue, and I'll be good.

I recently picked up Battle of Z for the Ps3 since it's basically half of the original cost and thought it was a decent game just not worth $60.

Bummer the Dragon Ball mini film posters are missing but for the price I paid, it's understandable. Pics below.
While the box is a bit damaged here and there, missing film posters the rest is like new so it was a good purchase.

Damn, the combination of Beet's slightly darker skin and his golden hair gives me a wholly different feel than Goku does.nicolas_3d wrote:Hi, I bought 2 Dragon Ball heroes limited edition Tournament Binders and 1 Dragon Ball heroes Booster pack box.

Just ordered Season 6 of the new Blu-ray Season Sets.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Battle of Gods on Rightstuf! Really hope they ship it early hehe. It's only happened to me once where they did that and other times, I really wish I would have just went to the store to buy cause one time the package came hella late.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
I just got back from a trip to Japan, and was amazed at all the Dragon Ball stuff I found. Tried to restrain myself, but still ended up buying a lot of stuff. Behold!

The bottle in the back claims to be mineral water. I really didn't give a shit what was inside, I just wanted it for the package
(phrasing!) I got a few Battle of Gods figures, including the silly face Vegeta I've wanted since the very first time I laid eyes on it (ah, remember the days before the movie came out and we were all speculating about why he'd be making such an awkward face?). Also, sexy Beerus, cute lil sleepy Beerus, and karaoke Piccolo.

Dangly phone charms (there were six characters in the series, but limited myself to just Vegeta and Bulma), a kickass dragon ball bracelet, Vegeta face drawstring pouch, aaaaand the VegeBul phone case I've been coveting. Don't have an iPhone 5 and have no plans to get one, but I wanted to get it because official merchandise featuring these two as a couple is so rare (is there anything besides this one thing?). First saw it in Odaiba, but my husband said I didn't need to spend $30 on something I can't even use. Started regretting not getting it, but then saw it again in Ikebukuro and convinced him that I needed it (well, I think his words were "you're going to buy whatever you want anyway, so just get it."
)

In the back, a couple figures of Vegeta killing things (didn't even realize that theme going on when I bought them, LOL) and a four-armed Tenshinhan I picked up for $1 at a flea market (even comes with alternate hands). In the front is a 40th Anniversary Jump figure with Vegeta doing Zoro's three sword style. The six figures in the middle row are Korean bootleg lego minifigs of Dragon Ball characters. Like any good (as in, hilariously bad) bootleg, many of them inexplicably come with weapons the characters never used.
I planned to buy even more stuff, but wasn't able to make time to get to all the stores I wanted. I regret not buying some doujinshi that looked good, thinking I would come back to that store later in the trip (but doujinshi can be a crapshoot, anyway...have no idea if the content was good, since a promising cover doesn't always mean quality content inside). Also planned to go to some used bookstores to look for some of the books I don't have, but wasn't able to make that happen. Oh well, had a good time anyway, and it's probably better to save some of my money...

I got the trunk poster in the surprise box..... i wish I had gotten the Gohan or Goku one....

This is not Dragon Ball related, but Akira Toriyama related:

My figuarts base Gokû arrived yesterday! :3 Very cool, I'm impressed with the flexibility. A little nerve-wracking swapping parts, and the right sleeve on his gi can come loose, but other than that very nice. :3
On hiatus.
