DragonBall Unknowns (Vol.1) Closer
It has been fun getting feedback from the questions I've been asking for sometime pertaining to DragonBall. For the most Part these are the responses I will take with me:
1-How come any time Vegeta,or anyone with the Freeza attire, destroy their gloves when shooting ki?
Stupid question. Ki formed outside of body for the most part.
2-DragonBall Z: Budokai Tenkaichi or Sparking states that Tenshinhan is of alien decent. What evidence from the manga (or even the show, I'm desperate!) supports this?
Sparking and the daizenshuu state this but it is most likely an error. I think Ten is.
3-How come in the 'current' timeline, the Trunks from the future isn't known by Gero and the androids. If Freeza and his father's cells were harvested, than information on Trunks should have been known. Also if Freeza's cells were taken then, in any timelime the super saiyan transformations should have been known. How come it is another shock to the Red Ribbion?
The computer continued the data without Gero. So he or the androids wouldn't know about Trunks or the super saiyan(s).
4-DragonBall GT: Why? I would have prefered it if it ended with the Cell Arc and if there had to be another series/money maker then it should have started with the Buu Arc. Am I alone in this thought?
No real answer. They did it because they could and people wanted it and still want more.
5-Who is the strongest human by the end of Z? I think it's Ten because he is consistantly training throughout the series. And even though Krillin receives a power-up from the Eldest Namekian, he settles down to raise a family, so this argument would be in Ten's favor.
Ten is the strongest. He continued training all throught DragonBall until you last see him.
6-Which are the exact components of Cell's uh, cells? I've heard many things from all saiyans, namekians, and Freeza's family to he has the power of everyone with a power reading above 50,000. Can you shed some light on this?
Cell is made up of Goku, Freeza and his father, Vegeta, and Piccolo. He can do their attacks because he knew them through their cells(?). A bonus is that Cell could probably do a spirit bomb.
Well that's it really. Thanks for answering and keep answering my questions, heh heh.
To Be Continued: DragonBall Unknowns (Vol.2)..?

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

OK, then...
The only canon moment when Goku refers to himself as an "earthling" is when first meets Raditz.. he was in denial of his origins at that time. At King Kai's - he without qualms says he's a saiya-jin, and after burying Vegeta's body on Namek he proudly mentions to Freeza that he's "a saiya-jin that was raised on earth!". Goku becomes more accepting of it and seems to gain more pride in his heritage from that point on, especially after Vegeta joined the senshi.
I have doubts if Cell can actually perform the genki dama (spirit bomb), cause it was stated one has to be pure of heart (like Goku) to do so.

Just Saiyan...
I hate being the person who points this out oh so often...SaiyaMel wrote:The only canon moment when Goku refers to himself as an "earthling" is when first meets Raditz.. he was in denial of his origins at that time. That statement only takes place in Movie 7, which isn't part of the Manga Canon.
Just got my Daizenshuu 7! ^^ And so:
Here's hoping to clear up all the Tenshinhan=human? thing:
Basically it says that "a descendant of 3-eyed aliens; the abilities of splitting oneself into 4 separate bodies and sprouting arms from one's shoulders are inconceivable to Earthlings" (elements of grammar may be off; my Japanese is still shaky.)
The entry in the Daizenshuu specifically has the word uchuu-jin in it, which means "alien."
Later in the Daizenshuu (p. 143 for reference) Tenshinhan's Shiyoken (the one in which he grows the extra pair of arms ^^) says something about "his ancestors ... 3-eyed people's unique ability."
Well, there you are, folks! I'll stubbornly keep believing that Tenshinhan is a human, or at the very least, an Earthling. ..But at the same time, I think it'd be interesting for the character to have this whole amazing other-worldly origin. ...I think I'm on the fence about this. ><
But then, let me just say this: the very same Daizenshuu lists Chaozu's height to be 138 cm, which is about 4 and 1/2 feet... which is utter bull crap, IMHO. I'm almost 5 feet tall myself; and sorry, there's. just. no. way.
So, errors in the Daizenshuu. Yeah. Word.

Woohoo, the Tenshinhan fan girl puts Ten back in the game! It would be much easier if there were some scans of the daizenshuu or if THIS THREAD HAD IT'S OWN PODCAST EPISODE... I'm just sayin'..kinoko wrote:Just got my Daizenshuu 7! ^^ And so:
