I didn't misunderstand it. That expression is usually an hyperbole, but I usually prefer when people are fair in their criticism so I usually comment even on the hyperboles.
Dude you did misunderstand it, and you misunderstand it again in this post. "He looks evil as shit" simply means "He looks very evil". Again, it has NOTHING to do with quality. It is in no way a comment on quality. "(Something) as shit" is just aa funny intensifier of (something). If someone says a girl looks "cute as shit", it means the girl looks "very cute". It has nothing to do with criticism.

You're right. Somehow, I read your post as "looks like shit" instead of "looks evil as shit", twice. So, I did misunderstand.

I'm familiar with both expressions, though. I just somehow hadn't read it correctly.

A tad too used to the rather blunt " This is shit " comments huh lol.. I'm sure It's probably all just a blur at some points.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Maybe. Sometimes I just miss a word while reading, especially when I read fast, which can change the meaning of sentence. It happens from time to time. So, it might be related to what I expected the comment to be or not.

Daimo is still evil because he still kill people that didn't need to die. Just because you don't kill a lot of people that does not mean you are not evil. It's like saying Charles Manson is not evil because he didn't kill as many people as Hitler did.

Demon King Piccolo is still evil, but not *absolute evil*, if that makes any sense. Say, he's Charles Manson-tier rather than Hitler-tier.

This page is great. Gast's "there is good in you, and you're slowly turning more-good" speech illustrated as if it was the usual "bad guy claiming that 'corrupted' good guy is going to turn evil" sort of scene, complete with shadow effects and glowy eyes for the speaker and the one being told this cringing away and denying it.

My biggest problem with this part of the story right now is, this is a REALLY jarring tone shift with no real build up to it. I mean, the last fight was pretty serious, the special before the 2nd half of said fight was pretty gritty and brutal, and now...we've gone into parody territory? Without even any kind of art-style shift?

Just really confusing  ...

Just like the real Dragon Ball, you mean? With Goku biting Freeza's tail for example? Or the arrival and behavior of the Ginyu force? Or Mr Satan antics in the middle of serious moments?

Those were moments that came and went fairly quickly, except for Hercule's antics at the Cell games, which got really annoying after a while. But even most of that was anime only. And even if they weren't, Mr. Hercule's antics were never the central focus of what was happening, whereas THIS battle right here...is.

Really, the only Dragon Ball moment you can really compare this fight to so far is the Gotenks vs. Super Buu fight, and I absolutely DESPISED that one for basically the same reason.

Just pointing out that even the actual manga is not really different. Take that as you will.

Eh, I disagree. Again, outside of that Gotenks vs. Super Buu fight, I don't think any of the main fights really count. I mean, occasionally we cut to some other character or event that's comedic while the fights themselves are going on, but the fights themselves...still tend to be serious, you catch my drift?

DBM is released page by page instead of chapter by chapter like the real manga, so things are necessarily written in a more "condensed" way. They can't afford to building things up in the same way as the real manga. The events and twists HAVE to be faster, because a full DBM chapter takes 2 months to be published, whereas full chapters of the real manga were released weekly.

How is that different? DBM also tends to be serious. The comedic/gag scenes and/or fights are the exception. So, its not really different.

Am I the only one hearing King Piccolo kicking Gast's ass to Gohan's whistling song?

Funny, but hey, how did Daimao learn about whistling?
