Jumping ahead: the last match of the tournament will be Vegeta Vs XXI then. Mark my words (please don't).

Vegeta will win his match with Goku, because every fanfiction ever has Vegeta finally get what he wants after being the eternal second runner.

Vegeta won both of his fights with Goku though, and he'll get a third win if you count alternate universes in this comic. He doesn't need any more glory.

"Second runner" is the wrong way to describe him. That implies he's the second best, and somewhere close to Goku. In actuality, aside from his debut and the very beginning of the android arc, Vegeta has always been absolute garbage to Goku. He alternates between 4th, 3rd, and 2nd runner throughout the series. By the end, he's the fifth or sixth runner (after Gohan, Gotenks, Goku, Buu, and maybe Uub), not the second.

A Bojack special, huh? Well, this is going to be boring as shit. There's not even any derpy artwork to keep us entertained this time.

I don't think Vegeta will beat Goku maybe on par with him, but I really expect the tournament will not go till his end, then Goku and Vegeta will save that day, and then organizers will offer the wishes to Goku and co. and they will resurrect Minosha for Tapion, will stop the Karbonyte from U19 world with a wish and will unfuse Gast. So in total 3 wishes, and Goku and co. will be glad to have another adventure and go home.

I don't really disagree. It seems like a lot of Vegeta fans feel that he was shortchanged for some reason though (Vegeta feels that way too!). Look in any youtube vid of DB with Vegeta in, and you'll see people complaining that Toriyama made Vegeta into a loser. That's why there's so much fanfiction "redressing the balance" with Vegeta centric stuff, whether it needed to be or not. It's more about how so many fans feel about Vegeta's status. I don't know how Salagir thinks about it, but it feels like a pretty common idea that Vegeta should defeat Goku in any rematch, so I always put it as the likely outcome when I read a new fanfic with that match in.

Since Vegeta admitted Goku was Number One, it's natural for a lot of people to want to switch that up.

Vegeta defines himself that way at least, and the idea of it is part of his character arc. Being "second best" and being in denial and pissed off about it is what drives the Vegeta character.

That character arc is complete, and in light of that Salagir has chosen a much more relaxed portrayal of Vegeta. Even so, the point may be that with new found maturity and accepting the idea of being second best, maybe Vegeta now deserves to be first. That may be the thing Salagir is going for here. He even begins the Multiverse novelization in a Vegeta-centric way with Vegeta wanting to do better than SS3. Hyping Vegeta's hidden power up seems to me to be setting up an arc in which Vegeta would win. Not saying Salagir can't surprise us, or anything.

I don't see U18 Vegeta beating Cell since Cell seems like he's stronger then SSj3 Goku and the novel of DBM makes it sound like Vegeta never went SSj3. Knowing Salagir, he will have Vegeta win. I do think the final round is going to be Goku vs. XXI and Goku will likely win due to PIS.

Well, when Gohan powered up, Cell seemed pretty scared (Page 138-139) so i don't think he is at SSJ3 level.

This is assuming the tournament actually gets that far. By the looks of it, the whole thing will go off the rails at some point. My prediction hinges on how the story proceeds. If DBM is meant to end with the final match of the tournament then Goku will beat Vegeta. If, however, the tournament's conclusion is what actually causes the havoc then Vegeta will beat Goku and get his ass handed to him by XXI in the final.

I don't know about that, how do we know that the first Cell.jr is gonna be brought back to life with the wish.
Also, why didn't Raichi use both Cell Juniors instead of just the one. I bet they're just going to write the first one out.

Goku shaking hands with a Cell Jr. (which even has a similar "happy/excited-in-a-non-crazy-way" expression like the one that Cell killed did one panel before the killing happened) definitely looks like it's suggesting the first one will be brought back and not want to go home with Dad, knowing that everyone who died up to this point is being brought back. I dunno, maybe they'll just forget the first one, but to me it would make more sense if that was the first one (who'd been betrayed by Cell and thus has reason to join up with somebody who wouldn't be on Cell's side) rather than the second one.

Freeza saying "Ginyu isn't dead, then" probably happens at some point after the bring-everyone-back wish, too. He's noticing that his universe's Ginyu didn't suddenly pop back to life in his original body, which means he hadn't body-swapped with anyone who's been killed up to this point (...was it just Burter from that universe, or am I forgetting someone?)
