2. No Kai Section
3. More Battle Power Discussion
4. Less Grammar Nazis
5. Even A General Comics/Anime/Manga Forum (since there's a lot of talk about crossovers)

Completely agree with you on 2 and 5. The Kai section seems so out of place, and a general anime/manga section would be fun. And no offence but this forum needs more "spice" to it, especially nowadays.

No, thanks.
I'll take less of 3 and more of 4 though. More real discussion with pristine grammar? Please and thank you.
You're in the wrong place if you genuinely expect your list to ever be a thing.

This list should be renamed: "5 things this forum should strive to avoid". I see differently then the mods on some points (necroposting/splitting-merging, a subforum for the new movies) but overall I think that the policy here is great. Though I wouldn't mind allowing at least a thread (I know we can't count on a subforum) regarding the other works by Toriyama.Big Green The Yoshi wrote:In order of importance...

Also about the grammar nazis: actual grammar mistakes (that many people [like me], for whom English isn't their first language, make) aren't really pointed out and corrected so frequently - what is corrected, are the mistakes that stem from carelessness: lack of punctuation, uppercase letters, English slang. So that's something quite different.

Re: 5 Things This Forum Desperately Needs...
1. Would be nice, I admit, but it's never gonna happen. The idea has been raised many times before, and always is shot down readily.
2. Eh, Kai's still an ongoing thing at this moment, so may as well leave it where it is till it's wrapped up. I could see it eventually being merged with the 'General Discussion' forum in the eventual future though, if I had to guess.
3. Oh dear god no. I mean, I have nothing against it when it's done well...but...it...generally isn't. That's where the majority of bickering about stuff comes from, even in threads that aren't even about power levels strictly.
4. It's actually not near as bad here as it used to be. For a while there it actually was a little much IMO, but now they generally just seem to correct the truly awful offenses to the English language. If you happen to make a minor mistake, it's very rare that you'll actually see red marks put into your posts anymore.
5. Isn't that more or less the same as #1? Again, it's been shot down every time, so I just don't see it ever happening. I for one would support the idea of a small forum area for discussion about Toriyama's other works, but even that seems highly unlikely.

Re: 5 Things This Forum Desperately Needs...
I see you are another person who doesn't know how to work an IRC chatroom. That is the "general discussion section".
I literally have never seen anyone point out another person's poor spelling habits before, so I can only assume you mean when someone's post is cleaned up with red, bold font. That's not going anywhere and you should be able to proofread your posts before you hit "Submit". There's even buttons for "Save draft" and "Preview"! If you get hit with the red, it's really your own fault.

1. There's an IRC room for that.
2. Why? Kai is still on going and discussion is neatly confined in there.
3. No.
4. If you're a native English speaker and above 13 years old, then you shouldn't have a problem with that. It's not even as strict as it used to be.
5. Refer to #1.

Re: 5 Things This Forum Desperately Needs...
Not to defend the idea, but I'm not really sure I'd call an IRC chat (or even the Skype chat) the same thing as an off topic section. The appeal of a forum area for such things would be that the discussions would always be there to come back to and see what kinds of things your fellow Kanzenshuu-ers are fans of and talking about. Chat sessions, while having their own benefits of being much more instantaneous, are pretty much gone once they're done and can't be perused again later.
So yeah - not fighting for the right of an off topic section, because it's just not gonna happen, but I wouldn't really call the chat room options the exact same thing either.

Re: 5 Things This Forum Desperately Needs...
They made an off-topic/general discussion forum. It died because nobody used it.
Things This Forum Actually Needs:
1. Ban power level discussion for a month.
2. Filter the word "feats" to "dickbutt".
3. Moderator Rocketman.
4. A new coffee pot, have you seen that thing, it is nasty.

I could get behind this. One or two more trusted confidants to help keep order and lessen the load on those already doing the job (especially for the four who are also running the joint).KentalSSJ6 wrote:6. More Mods.
Re: 5 Things This Forum Desperately Needs...
Why exactly? Every forum has them, which means there's literally hundreds of places to go to talk about these things. Even a forum I run has it, and I rarely pop in there except for an occasional 'so who saw this movie and/or tv show?Big Green The Yoshi wrote:In order of importance...

I don't disagree on this one, but it's there, and people discuss it. I suppose once Kai is dead and buried for a few years it might make sense for it to be moved/merged, etc.2. No Kai Section
This sort of makes me wonder if your entire list is meant to be satire.3. More Battle Power Discussion
If you want to talk about DBZ without grammar many of us are in fact on Twitter and hanging out in the chat room.4. Less Grammar Nazis
Isn't this 'basically' the same as 1?5. Even A General Comics/Anime/Manga Forum (since there's a lot of talk about crossovers)
Your list is basically the same list horrible TV execs check off on a list when they turn a targeted audience network into generic entertainment with reality show after reality show.
Kanzenshuu doesn't need those suggestions. There are many places you can go for that stuff. If Kanzenshuu had that stuff... it wouldn't be Kanzenshuu. It'd be those other places.

Re: 5 Things This Forum Desperately Needs...
This isn't <other forum>. Sorry to call you out since you got banned from there. But kanzenshuu is a different atmosphere than <other forum>. A different website and different forum. You're trying to make it <other forum> because you were banned there and you miss the awesome people there (it's the best forum ever with the best people). However give kanzenshuu a chance. It's not on par with <other forum> (IMO) but it's a good place to talk Dragonball.Big Green The Yoshi wrote:In order of importance...

What we need is allowance to talk about other Toriyama works, even when they are unrelated to DB...
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Re: 5 Things This Forum Desperately Needs...
To be fair, some people here like myself are not very big on chat rooms. I like forums better because things are easier and chat rooms can go on forever without stopping. Not to mention, the last time I was on the RIC chatroom, it was other members gossiping about other members. I left places like the Outskirt Battle Dome on Narutofan and Kaiju Hakaba because the gossiping out of hand. If people have a issue with someone then tell them face to face.B wrote:I see you are another person who doesn't know how to work an IRC chatroom. That is the "general discussion section".
A off topic forum will never happen unless Mike does some Kanzenshuu subscriber feature which gives members cool features like a off topic forum, forum sigs, sneak previews of new features on the main site and a bigger PM box. I think not having a off topic forum makes the site more relaxing since you don't have to deal with members fighting each other over politics and religion.
