This is of course all wild speculation, but it would explain some details, like Goku and Vegeta being trained and fighting Freeza instead of Beerus.
Eh... I couldn't see him purified and reincarnated (I wouldn't WANT that, at least) just because he's the most notoriously evil being in Dragonball. It would be like the Z universe lost its staple antagonist. I'm just pondering the possibility of, after Beerus' possible defeat, whether that would make Frieza the new god of destruction by default, whether he's evil or not.

Not if Vegeta has anything to say about it and believe me he'll have plenty to say and do.
Maybe Freeza does kill Beerus, Whis asks if he wants to become the next God, Vegeta gets enraged and kills Freeza and takes his place. But that would just be repeating the Majin Vegeta thing again.

Why would Freeza kill Beers? Why would Beers even leave his planet?

Just because the title of god of destruction doesn't sound like he's doing a "good" thing, doesn't mean that an evil being can have the position.

Oh, I can only imagine Vegeta's reaction.

If Frieza himself somehow attains god ki, (and a new transformation?) I have a hard time believing that Vegeta alone will be able to do much about it. I want him to be able to, though, believe me. Vegeta needs a heroic moment in Dragonball. He's had some wins in his lifetime, back when he was evil, but ever since he's become a changed man, he's tried his hardest, but always fails. It's a trend that has been exhausted, and I hope that he is at least successful in this movie. It doesn't have to be a win, just a success. The poor guy needs that.

That moment when you remember that it's not 54 days until you get to watch the movie, but rather when it comes out in a country other than your own.

How long was it between BoG coming out in theaters and when it came out on DVD?

In what country? In Japan Battle of Gods was theatrically released on 30 March 2013 and came out on Blu-ray and DVD on 13 September 2013. In the US Battle of Gods was theatrically released on 5 August 2014 and came out on Blu-ray and DVD on 7 October 2014.

You're from Canada so... I dunno when you got the DVD.

In BOG, Beerus certainly doesn't have a fondess for Frieza. He even stated that he would have killed Frieza himself. And whether he has actually met Frieza or not, there's a lot of friction there; if Beerus can get upset over something as little and silly as a pudding cup, I think he could get into a tiff with someone like Frieza over far less.

But he has Gokuu and Vegeta training to do that for him already. There's no real indication that Beers feels one way or the other about Freeza, so why have him go through the trouble of picking a fight? A fight folks seem to think he will lose and be killed in.

I'm just not seeing where this "Beers is going to be killed by Freeza" thing is coming from, especially when Beers doesn't seem to concern himself with much unless it personally affects or annoys him.

I was thinking about the 12 Universes thing and how are they going to use it in this movie..
Since we don't know much about Freeza's race, except that they are extremely powerful mutants, what if...Freeza & King Cold are from another Universe? That would explain their extreme power and how their race is a mystery. Maybe King Cold was sent to Universe #7 in a similar fashion as Goku was sent to Earth.
Information about the 12 Universes came from Beerus, and it's safe to say that he learned it from Whis. Whis could be the only creature in Universe #7 capable of moving freely between the Universes, so he knows about Freeza's race and what threat they pose to this and all the other Universes. And that's why he trains Goku & Vegeta, not only to prepare them for Freeza, but a hole race of Freeza's :D

I really hope Hironobu Kageyama returns. If they bring back FLOW again I'm really gonna flip.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

The film is using a song from Momo Clover Z and the song F from Maximum the Hormone. Bringing in FLOW for a new, third song is unlikely. JAM Project is even less likely, given they're probably much more expensive.

I will be very surprised if Vegeta isn't the one who finishes Freeza.

BOG and everything that's been shown and said about ROF has strong hints at it so it won't make since if he doesn't.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

A few reasons...

-Beerus doesn't like Freeza and was planning to get rid of him anyway
-Freezas return is said to throw off the balance, which is probably the cosmic balance that Beerus helps maintain
-If Goku were in danger of being defeated by Freeza, I think Beerus would help him

We get DVDs at the same time as you (barring the odd exception in which we get it a week prior or after). Obscure theatrical releases don't always happen all over the country, though. If I'm not mistaken, Toronto was the only city that got BoG.

Also FUCK. YES. to this unexpected response to an email I sent to the Fantasia Film Festival. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT OUT OF THIS BECAUSE IT'S A) NOT OFFICIAL, B) NOT FINALIZED, AND C) COULD GET THE GUY IN SERIOUS TROUBLE. The odd parentheses are because I got a response from a Francophone who did his best to answer me in English out of politeness. I basically changed it from "Frenglish" to actual English for you guys.
NOT AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT From the Fantasia Film Festival wrote: Hi [Dayspring's real name]! [This is] [The guy's real name]!

It [would seem] that great minds, they think alike! ahahaha!

Please do not [tell] anybody about this as it is still in the [early stages], but because you're such a close friend of [local filmmaker's name] and [another local filmmaker's name who has been heavily involved with the festival over the years], I am making an exception:

You are not the first person to request of us that we try [to] get [a] screening [of] Fukkatsu no F for this year's festival. In fact, you're not the first to recommend a [double screening] of it with Kami to Kami.

However!

We are actually trying to go even better than that! It was our idea that we make a [triple screening] with the first film being a [triple screening in its own right]! We are hoping to get the two specials starring Bardock, who is Son Goku's father, as well as a 2008 short film that [takes place] after the series ended and before Kami to Kami. Exciting, isn't it?!!?!

This [triple screening] would be one day only, but Fukkatsu no F would get a second showing later during the festival (a third one if it ends up being popular enough!) as it would be the Canadian Premiere.

However, because it is still uncertain that FUNimation [the company] that owns the North American rights to the Dragonball series will be one of our sponsors, it is not a guarantee [at this time] that we will be showing any of the films. Our hope is that we can at least obtain the rights for Canadian Cinematic Premiere for Fukkatsu no F. It is still very early in the discussion process, though. We still have a long way to go until Juy!

[Keep] your fingers crossed!
Interesting to note is how he keeps specifying Canadian premiere. This would suggest that the US would be showing it somewhere beforehand, either in theaters or at an American film festival.

FYI: the Fantasia Film Festival is held in Montreal every summer in Montreal from mid-July to the end of the first week of August. It's the largest genre film festival in the world.

Why's TOEI so goddamn cheap nowadays especially with music? And why do they like sucking all the manliness outta DBZ?

Speculation time: I'm starting to feel like this new film will solve the seemingly irreconcilable nature of the status quo after Battle of Gods and the manga's epilogue.

A lot of people complain about Goku's new realm of power and how it relates to the manga's epilogue, saying that it makes no sense for him to be hyped for Uub. At the same time, a lot of people are rolling their eyes over the idea of Freeza being able to train to get ridiculously strong, with quips such as "well what if Cell trained, or what if Buu trained?"

These two problems actually kind of solve each other. What if Buu trained indeed? That's what has Goku so excited during the epilogue. He's seen how strong Freeza can get, now he wants to see someone who has Buu's power reach their full potential.

I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't. Just for the fact of Toriyama always doing the opposite of what you think he's going to do, and since he's already said that he thinks Vegeta should be the hero, yeah. I'm not expecting it to happen. Also, the way Nozawa talked about the new script, and how it had unexpected moments, that leads me to believe even more that this movie is going to feature moments that are going to come WAY out of left field.

Though, as I believed you've mentioned before, Vegeta saving the day could be considered out of left field for a Dragonball movie, since he has always been Goku's second. Anyway, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for heroic Vegeta. I want to see Vegeta kick some Frieza tail just as much as the next Vegeta fan

Isn't Pure Kid Buu supposed to be Buu at his maximum power?

I don't think most would consider Kid Buu to be the strongest Buu, if that's what you're asking. But that will be the start of something horribly off topic.
