Locating what game Videl's Thanks Gohan attack is from.

Post by voltlunok » Sat Mar 07, 2015 1:04 am

Can someone please tell me which of the Z games has Videl using the 'Thanks Gohan' attack? Where she does a rush, gets her butt kicked then Gohan comes in and saves her. I believe it was an ultimate move but I cannot for the life of me remember which game it's in and google AND bing searches aren't helping...So I come to you my brothers for the answer!

It's in Budokai 2, 3, and Infinite World. It's called "Videl's Close Call".

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

Thank you! That's been bugging me for a couple weeks now after a discussion with a friend.

What bugged me is that the ultimate attack for 50% of the playable female characters in those games consists of her getting hit and being saved by her boyfriend, who then beats up her opponent for her. At least Spike gave her all those cool rush attacks.

But Videl has Eagle Kick and Hawk Arrow in the Budokai games plus she sucks dragonballz in the Spike games, at least in the Budokai Tenkaichi games.

She's a lot better in the Raging Blast games. I can't remember what she was like in the last two Sparking! games, but I do remember her being ridiculously nerfed (to the point of being pretty much unplayable) in the first one...

She's more or less the same in the those games as she was in the first one except with a different grab. Weak (though fast) melee attacks, no teleport combo, weak ki blasts with laughable range, low Health, and low defense with her only viable method of winning is spamming her rush supers (even the AI knows this and will spam them constantly) which are useless against Giants so even Hercule is a better character in those games than her.

She's a joke character in the Budokai series, that's why both her Ultimates are comical (Gohan saving her in her normal form and throwing her helmet in frustration as Great Saiyaman 2) but she's actually pretty strong despite that. Both of her deathmoves are solid.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!
