Why hasn't Vegeta used Zenkai before...

Where are they going to put a healing machine anyway? You can't exactly sneak around with one of those thing, and they wouldn't fit in a space pod.

They fit and are in a spaceship. You know, the ones that Freeza usually flies around in. I doubt there are only 2 of these in Freeza's entire army.

Seeing how casual he was about having Vegeta on Planet Namek after immortality granting balls I honestly don't think he'd care that Vegeta nabbed a spaceship and flew off to power himself up.

I was never under the impression Vegeta was aware of this trait before the battle on earth. Freeza seemed to know about it, though.

I think at that point, Vegeta's betrayal was pretty much an open secret and everybody knew about it. I mean he had already disobeyed orders, so Freeza knew he was up to something at the very least.

Without a senzu bean or a professional healer on standby, trying to utilize Zenkai's is very impractical.

That's what I was saying. Freeza was completely chill about Vegeta's betrayal and Freeza didn't even bother to ask anybody to hunt Vegeta down until he managed to nab all the dragon balls from Freeza's spaceship. I would imagine that Vegeta stealing a spaceship would be something Freeza wouldn't care about like he didn't care about Vegeta being on Namek searching for the Dragon Balls too.

Vegeta and his crew had probably never come close to death before Earth, so they wouldn't have been exposed to it.
