Games released in the states with a Japanese voice option?

Post by SPRSYJN » Mon Apr 13, 2015 8:58 pm

I know only of a few titles with the option: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for PS2. Only a few copies of Budokai 3 had a Japanese voice option for PS2. Ultimate Battle 22 (as bad as it is) for PS1. Pretty sure Battle of Z had the option as well. Attack of The Saiyans for DS was in Japanese only. I think that's all I got! Any others? I'd love to know.

Every Japanese-developed game that was on a Sony console since Budokai 3's Greatest Hits version had it. So:

Budokai 3 GH (the HD collection version had it too)
Tenkaichi 1-3
Burst Limit
Infinite World
Raging Blast series
Ultimate Tenkaichi
Battle of Z
Xenoverse

The PSP games and Revenge of King Piccolo may have had it too, but I'm not sure.

Both of the Shin Budokai games on PSP had the option. Not sure about Tenkaichi Tag Team.

I remember Mike saying on the podcast that TTT did NOT have Japanese voices :P
Also, Attack Of The Saiyans was japanese voices ONLY!

This is accurate with the exception of Super Dragon Ball Z, which was JP-voices only in Europe and English voices only in North America. Tenkaichi Tag Team is also indeed dub-only in North America.

Battle of Z on Vita launched dub-only, but a free patch enabled another free download later on that added it a selectable option.

The Wii game did indeed have selectable voices. The DS games were generally dub-only (Origins) or JP-voices only (Attack of the Saiyans).

The exception to the rule these days is to not have it as a selectable option, and those examples can pretty much be counted on one hand.

I think the Gamecube port of Budokai 2 was the first DBZ game in the US to have the Japanese voice option.

I don't think Budokai 2 had Japanese Voices in the US version. Correct me if I am wrong! :D
