Hmm... if Super 17 is capable of absorbing godly ki and Beerus for some reason decides to attack him with a big energy blast or two right off the bat rather than going for physical attacks first, he might have a chance. Considering that SSj4 Goku (at least before his "beyond limits" power is unlocked) is only supposed to be "perhaps stronger than SSj Vegerot," though, there should be a pretty significant gap between Super 17 and Beerus... it seems unlikely that Beerus would be dumb enough to keep rapid-firing high-power blasts into Super 17 long enough for him to catch up.

Plus, based on what we've seen of his fighting style, Beerus seems to prefer fighting with physical attacks unless he knows that his opponent is strong enough to justify using energy blasts (he's not an energy-blast spamming character like Vegeta can be at times, or like GT Goku was against Super 17 at first...), and he seems to find that out by testing them with physical attacks first. So yeah, he'd probably beat the crap out of Super 17 before he had a chance to absorb much (if any) energy from him.

If Super 17 can't absorb godly ki, then he's just utterly screwed.

If Gohan isn't a pacifist he slaughters his father. Skill is too irrelevant here.
