Re: "Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2" (JP 3DS)
So I'm currently enjoying the first UM, and am waiting for my UM2 to be delivered. Just want to ask a few things.
How easy is this game in comparison to UM1?
Does anyone have a page of QR codes for this game, like UM1 does?
What else is on the DLC other than SSGSS? Is Gold Freeza available? Are the cards for them available from the point of updating, or do they need to be unlocked?
Thanks in advance!

UM1's drop rate is acceptable but be aware that that UM2 is very frustrating when it comes to getting new cards.Wilderness wrote:So I'm currently enjoying the first UM, and am waiting for my UM2 to be delivered. Just want to ask a few things.

The QR codes for UM2 most of them are on the website.
You have to unlock the ROF cards in the missions. There isn't any other DLC.

That's great, thanks for your help!
One more thing, sorry to be a pain. I just read cards can be transferred from UM1 to UM2. Can anyone inform me how? My game is due to be delivered later this week.
Plus, is the game in 3D unlike UM1?
Many thanks!

When you start up the game a message will pop up with two choices make sure to pick the option on the left not the right or else it will start the game without your save. When you press the left option it will take you to the heroes save data app, download it use it ONCE then go to your game.Wilderness wrote:That's great, thanks for your help!

Also you have to play UM1 missions all over again. UM2 is like the HD version of UM1 with more missions.

Re: "Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2" (JP 3DS)
Thank you for your help!
I've been playing UM1 now for a few days. Easily got through the main missions, only losing one battle at that. It's generally a really easy game, though it's not without it's frustrating moments...
Loading times are a bit too much for a start. Card drops are pretty poor, though that's almost to be expect for such a high card count, however I find myself using the game cards for most missions. The special missions are annoying, SSJG Goku seeiously gets 100% of his bar filled every single damn time!! No pause menu. No 3D support; considering this is the first DBZ game released on 3DS, it's sad to see it's just in standard 2D, and hopeful that UM2 is in 3D. It missed a good opportunity with a handful of areas, such as the menus, attacks and with Shenron.
Admittedly, I have no idea whatsoever what I'm doing with the little Giru-like parts, or with capsules and how to use them, but I'm finding the game easy without.
Overall I really am enjoying the game, I would probably go as far to say it's my favourite DBZ game. Though I'd be silly to think I'd finally found a DBZ game that wasn't frustrating at all!
Also, I'm interested in how these cars drops work. Are they 100% completely random or are there certain cards that can only be unlocked in certain missions?

Re: "Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2" (JP 3DS)
UM2 doesn't have 3D.
Card drops aren't random, only certain ones are dropped in certain missions.
The capsules give you boosts that last for one battle... one boosts HP, one boosts EXP earned, and one boosts Hero Energy. You can receive them as gifts in the game or buy them from Bulma.
Each Badge/Robo part boosts different stats, and each one has different abilities that activate during different rounds. After each battle you receive a random badge, and if all of your badge slots are used, you're asked which one you want to discard. The number of badge slots can be increased with the Dragon Balls.
I don't think anyone has translated the abilities yet, but these are the stats they boost:
HP - Health boost
G - Guard boost
P - Attack power boost
S - Score boost
EX - EXP boost
The last one written in Japanese is a friendship level boost.

Re: "Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2" (JP 3DS)
Shame about the 3D.
Okay that makes sense, explains why I've only been getting the same damn Vegeta card in the special missions. Has anyone created a reference list on which cards appear on which mission?
Oh okay that makes sense; I've seen them in the Capsule Corp building icon during the mission screen. They'd be great help against SSJG Goku & team haha.
I've only got 3 badge slots, which I'm assuming is the norm? Yet there looks to be some locked slots. Any way of unlocking these?
Sorry for all the questions, I'll be first to admit it's my own fault to purchase a game that I don't fully understand haha...

The only thing I've found is a fan made Japanese guide where the author lists cards he has gotten from each mission http://enjoigame.sakura.ne.jp/dbhu2/Wilderness wrote:Shame about the 3D.

It also has ultra clear conditions for missions in universe mode.
If you're having trouble defeating a boss, try using an Ultimate Unit attack, they do about 20,000-30,000 damage.Oh okay that makes sense; I've seen them in the Capsule Corp building icon during the mission screen. They'd be great help against SSJG Goku & team haha.
It's ok, I don't speak Japanese either, so I went through the same difficulty trying to figure everything out.I've only got 3 badge slots, which I'm assuming is the norm? Yet there looks to be some locked slots. Any way of unlocking these?
Yes, that's how many you start with. To unlock more slots you need to wish for them with the dragon balls. I believe you need the dark star dragon balls to get more slots, though, which you can collect in arcade mode.

Thank you for the link! Trying to figure it out a bit better, struggling but getting there.
I've never even heard of an Ultimate Unit attack? I know Baby Janemba does a special attack on the third round. Is it character specific? How do I enable it?
After watching a YouTube video about it, someone is using SSJ3 Gogeta, SSJ3 Gotenks and the avatar. I have each of those but nothing has ever happened.

Re: "Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2" (JP 3DS)
Not all cards have Ultimate Unit abilities, only the cards with the faces of three characters shown towards the bottom left of the card have them, and not all Ultimate Unit abilities are attacks, only the ones with a cost of 10 hero energy are attacks. The special attack Janemba is doing is a deathblow, every card has one, and each deathblow has a hero energy cost. Hero energy is earned each round depending on where your cards are positioned, and some cards have abilities to give you more hero energy. The blue crystals or boxes shown in the top left corner of your screen during battle are your hero energy.Wilderness wrote:Thank you for the link! If you haven't read the guide over at gamefaqs, you should check that out, it doesn't cover everything, but it's really helpful http://www.gamefaqs.com/3ds/778834-drag ... faqs/69775

Re: "Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2" (JP 3DS)
I would be nothing without that game FAQ ^.
Playing this game seems pretty doable now, but my only thing is good combinations, or when should I let someone charge up their ki, or when should I do a full on attack? It seems I attack full on when I don't need to, and when I let people charge and put only a couple out, I get destroyed, lol. Any ideas?

It depends on your cards, you'll get used to it as you play. Typically during the first round, I put 1 card in the weakest attack zone, and all the rest in the charge area, then move everyone to the red attack zone during the second round, but some cards have abilities that give you more hero energy, so you can move everyone to the front right away, and some cards have special support abilities and you want to keep them in the support area the entire time. Also, to ultra clear certain battles, you'll be required to play a specific way, for example never using the charge/support area, or having a certain minimum battle power every round which requires you to move everyone to the front right away.GreatSaiyaman3Gou wrote:I would be nothing without that game FAQ ^.

Oh man, thanks, I will have to try to keep in mind the ultra clears and remember what each card's abilities are. I just don't understand enough to know when to do it I guess, but it's whatever, if I tried to understand them a bit more with the GameFaqs guide, it should help a lot. I've been taking a break from it because it has been the same over and over so far, but then again I try to rely on some cards more than other to level them up. I hate grinding, but I tend to overdo it all the time... Kind of like in Pokemon, I get some pokemon and then spend a couple hours leveling them up to be able to get through the game easier, taking all the fun out of it lol.
Re: "Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2" (JP 3DS)
One good way of getting UM2-specific new cards I found today is to fight through the Tenkaichi Budokai (I can't recall if it's always available to do, but I'm currently on the Artificial Human 13 mission in story-mode, and even the first few fights yielded such as an end-of-Z base Goku with 'Z' ability, a Vegeta that transforms into Oozaru, and a Gohan in Goku's clothes- i.e. Ultimate Gohan- that transforms to SSJ [anyone know what part of the story- presumably anime?- this Gohan is supposed to represent, by the way?]). Other than this, it seems the fights in cities are OK for new cards, but much more difficult to win (at least for me, primarily because of the insane HP they always have...). Frankly the thing I like least about this game is the speed of the Charge Impact bar (although after playing for a few minutes one admittedly gets into its rhythm); naturally everything else is a massive improvement, not least the multiple new attack options and card types... I do still play the old UM too, though, just for fun, because of the ease of winning

It's Battle of Gods: Base to SS. Not Ultimate.Cypher wrote:Gohan in Goku's clothes- i.e. Ultimate Gohan- that transforms to SSJ [anyone know what part of the story- presumably anime?- this Gohan is supposed to represent, by the way?]).

S is Score, Ex is Experience and the other is Friendship (Yuujou).UpFromTheSkies wrote:Does anyone know what all of the badge stats are for?
HP is obvious, I'm guessing P and G are Power and Guard, but I have no idea what S, EX, and the other one are for.
That's my weakness with UM1 in the battles which Ultra Clear conditions is to always attack first or always have a certain battle power. I can't, for the life of me, understand how that works. I mostly understand that each attack area is a set battle power but sometimes it varies and I don't know how bosses can have thousands of battle power each round and what relation it has with the attack areas.UpFromTheSkies wrote:It depends on your cards, you'll get used to it as you play. Re: "Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2" (JP 3DS)
I've been sitting on Japanese region 3DS listenings for days now. Initially I was going to get one for the sake of Extreme Butōden AND DB: Heroes 2 (possibly 1) but now that EB is going to be released state side I'm back in a dilemma.
It doesn't look like there's much to it, not being able to read anything could be a bit frustrating but I'm reading that the game is overall pretty easy to get through without understanding. Plus, I'm sure there is a guide or two out there if I look hard enough.
Just sooo hard to justify getting a J-3DS for 1, maybe 2, games.
Ugh.

Re: "Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2" (JP 3DS)
When you're in the charge area, you build up will power (the meter above each character), and when you're in the battle area, you spend it, and the closer you are to the front line the more you spend, and the amount of will power spent determines your power level during power level battles. As for the bosses, I don't think they follow the same rules as the rest of the cards, or they have special abilities.alakazam^ wrote: That's my weakness with UM1 in the battles which Ultra Clear conditions is to always attack first or always have a certain battle power. You don't have to use a Japnese 3DS to play the game, there are three other options...kizuki wrote:I've been sitting on Japanese region 3DS listenings for days now. RegionFour exploit: http://smealum.net/regionfour/
NTR Custom Firmware: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-ntr ... ds.385142/
Gateway 3DS flashcart : http://www.gateway-3ds.com/ (You can use Gateway 3DS to dump the ROM from your retail UM2 cart and play it from your SD card.)
All of these methods require you to be on specific versions of the 3DS firmware, so make sure you are on the required firmware before spending any money. Also, if you're interested in game updates or DLC, which you'll need for certain content like the Golden Freeza and SSGSS Goku cards and missions, the only method that will allow you to do that is the Gateway 3DS flashcart, but it involves some shenanigans which I can't explain here.

And I've looked into a bunch of these different ways to get around region lock and such. Been also reading up on just how to handle using a J-3DS here in the states. I'm hoping to make a decision by the weekend. It's most likely going to end up with a purchase of a J-3DS and UM2, which will hopefully get here after the 4th since I'll be on vacation from work that week and can mess around with the game.
Dragon Ball wins again.
