He wasn't ever confirmed to be Super Saiya-jin 3 tier, and there's no call to get at us for debating it. If his strength was ever confirmed or established, this wouldn't be an issue at all, but it never was.shonenhikada wrote:Lol you guys still talking about this ? Yes, they are. So? They don't need your approval.shonenhikada wrote:Lol you guys still talking about this ? GT trunks has been confirmed SSJ3 tier. He outranks every other version of himself.
The thing about GT Trunks (not) having Super Saiyan 3 was already addressed when you first pointed it out. Unless you have some subtitled screencaps to display, there's probably nothing more to say about it.

Well, if you believe the gap between Goten and Trunks stayed consistent from Z, then GT Trunks is probably Ultimate Gohan tier.

Re: Which Trunks is the strongest?
I don't see what's wrong with strong characters.
Re: Which Trunks is the strongest?
It's not as simple and stubborn as "hating strong characters." There's an understandable distaste for when a character is suddenly portrayed as astronomically stronger than before for no reason. We saw how Ultimate Gohan attained that level of power in the manga. But what caused GT Trunks to supposedly get up to that same abnormal level? Nothing, at least nothing that we were shown.
It's easy to just say, "plot determines power" or "characters are as strong as they need to be," but that ignores the key point that plot-powerups almost always have plot devices behind them. When a character gets a large power increase, there's practically always something that actually causes it. The holy water. Training under a god. Saiyan healing boosts. Increasingly intense gravity training. Legendary transformations. The Room of Spirit and Time. Potential-unlocking rituals. Etc.
Imagine if something similar happened in western comics. Like, if Spider-Man was suddenly shown lifting up an aircraft carrier, and the comic treated it like it was nothing odd or out of the ordinary for him. Would sensible readers just say, "oh, there's nothing wrong with Spider-Man being strong" and be okay with it? No, obviously the vast majority of people who know anything about Spidey would be confused and annoyed by the unexplained inconsistency. It's no different with the "implied" massive strength disparities in GT.

Re: Which Trunks is the strongest?
Future Trunks as stronger than Kid Trunks. End of Z Trunks may be stronger than Future Trunks. GT doesn't exist so I'm not including that version of Trunks in this argument.

Re: Which Trunks is the strongest?
How would Teen Trunks be stronger than Kid Trunks if he and Goten are said to be slackers? Curiously, Adult Trunks in Dragon Ball GT was able to defeat Yakon without using Super Saiyan, he is probably stronger than at least Super Saiyan Goku from Boo Arc. Perhaps you are basing your idea on that. As they grow up, their powers naturally increase, unlike Gohan whose power becomes dormant.

Re: Which Trunks is the strongest?
Future Trunks at his strongest (Cell Games, during fight against F. 17 and 18, and then F. Cell) is the strongest Trunks.
EoZ Trunks is barely any stronger than his kid self because he didn't train, and neither did he during the GT years.

Re: Which Trunks is the strongest?
Piccolo has a humanoid figure as well though, if anything a more refined one cus he's a "grown man" so to speak. but I guess theres the four fingers and a thumb thing though one could say that Goten, Trunks and Piccolo are so close that they all kinda had some affect on his body, though Goku did stake even at the time of Gotenks' delusion that Boo was mostly Piccolo.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Goten and Trunks had a far greater effect on "Piccolo Buu" than Piccolo did. Future Trunks by a country mile.
Piccolo gave Buu clothes. Goten and Trunks actually changed Buu's body.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Re: Which Trunks is the strongest?
Correct me if I'm wrong here but kid Trunks never really proved his power beyond the fight with 18 and impressing Piccolo. Even if we give kid Trunks the benefit of the doubt and say he was stronger than 18, hell say he was stronger than Piccolo, was future Trunks not vastly superior to both of those characters? Like in a completely different league? Regardless of my headcanons with Piccolo (I like to think he's as strong as Dabura), the fact remains that he never actually proved his strength beyond fighting android 17. Imperfect Cell was at least twice as strong as Piccolo, and then Semi-Perfect Cell was more than twice as strong as that. Even assuming Piccolo closed that huge gap in his ROSAT training, we know for a fact that future Trunks could completely stomp Semi-Perfect Cell, and that was after only one trip in the ROSAT, after his second trip he improved substantially. Has kid Trunks really done anything to concretely prove he is THAT many tiers above Piccolo? It wouldn't make any sense either, since future Trunks is older and has been much better trained.

Future Trunks was not in a different league from Piccolo in the Cell games.
By this Kid Trunks is stronger by default and at worst EoZ Trunks is equal to him.

Re: Which Trunks is the strongest?
In my head it goes like this: Piccolo (fused with Kami) is said to be able to defeat Freeza by the Elder, while base Goku can't even in BoG. Then Piccolo is stronger than base Goku and by default stronger than base Trunks. Piccolo can't transform, but Saiyans can, so it's Super Saiyans > Piccolo > base Saiyans. SSJ Kid Trunks may be stronger than Piccolo, but Future Trunks is miles apart from both.nickzambuto wrote:hell say he was stronger than Piccolo

Re: Which Trunks is the strongest?
Personally, I have trouble seeing CG Trunks giving Teen Gohan difficulty blocking his hits or landing a punch on PM Vegeta. That's just me.
GT Trunks is in a completely different dimension from any other Trunks by virtue of GT hax.

Re: Which Trunks is the strongest?
Kid Trunks as he and Goten aren't that far away from Gohan. Gohan may be rustier but his power is mainly weaker cause he can't draw from his anger. That level is above CG Trunks. The real fight is between Xeno Trunks and GT Trunks I suppose.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
