About the fat Beerus & female Whis, since Chozenshuu #1 implies that there are more than one Hakaishin in the 7th Universe, I predict that the fat cat is Beerus' brother & another Hakaishin of this universe, while the female Whis is his attendant who is from the same race as Whis, if not related to him.

The more details they release, the more confused I get.

I'm gonna say this takes place AFTER BoG, simply because Beerus and Whis are there. I doubt they would make the movie non-canon. You never know though....

It does feel like fan service (which I gratefully accept :3 ).
Inside Buu eps felt similar. Cheek to cheek ki blast and its aftermath (Gokû not pulling away till Vegeta snaps him out of it, then later Vegeta trying to rub the Kakarrotto cooties off his cheek and freaking out when Gokû interrupts and waves to him.)

I'd say wording it like: "The God of Destruction that manages Earth..." makes it sound a lot like there are other gods of destruction, who manage other planets in the universe, but yeah as Captain Space posts, BoG made it sound like there was Beerus the God of Destruction from the 7th universe and then some in other universes.

I really think the Chozenshuu is wrong on that one as BoG and Toriyama always seems to imply, at least to me, that Beerus is the only Hakaishin of universe 7. We'll have this clarified in Super most probably, even though it doesn't seem like it has to be.

I'm perfectly happy with it being post BOG and pre ROF. It allows the chance for them to show more of the Magenta Super Saiyan God, show how Vegeta became a God and see his Magenta SSG and how they eventually came up with the SSGSS.

I'd guess a new villain will show up and as a result Vegeta will become a God. They'd probably be on the losing side and they'd either train or not to achieve the SSGSS form for the first time which they'd use to defeat the villain.

Then we'd move on to post ROF.

The dubs could have translated it wrong just to avoid implying extra marital conception. The word used in japanese can mean both things bride/fiance/wife.

Edit: I remember thinking this translation would blow up in their faces if there was any other material that showed their wedding later on.

If that's the reason why they did it, then it's really sad. It's the 21st century, haven't we already gone past that?

If there's a wedding later, I suppose they'll just ignore it. Trying to handwave it would make it worse.

I second this. Filling in those gaps will make watching F that much more satisfying to boot.

Yep. I thought it was ridiculous. There were plenty of kids already who's parents aren't married... specially in USA. Here in Mexico they are more hush hush about that stuff, but seriously, kids can handle it just fine. "Oh well, I guess they also love each other, so they are going to get married now *shrugs*"

Hell, I'm sure Vegeta only "officially" married Bulma a few years after Cell.

I was just about to post this same thought. Gohan never would strike me the kind of guy to do something like that, same with Videl.

I really wouldn't find it surprising. They were 20 something with years of dating behind their back already. They loved each other, why wouldn't they? It doesn't seem to be such a taboo in DBZ anyway.

Just read the news about the early plot of Super. I have a feeling that Toriyama wants to leave no stone unturned during the 10 year gap and it seems as though Super is gonna start of by filling in the gaps between the 2008 OVA, BOG and ROF. I know it may seem irritating that we may be stuck in this 10 year gap for the foreseeable future, but I have a feeling that once everything that could be possibly be done in the 10 year gap is explored, every future adventure or battle in Dragon Ball will be EOZ and beyond. And we already know how Toriyama feels about the characters at that point in the story. But I will say this, it certainly is refreshing that Dragon Ball Super will be more light-hearted and taking a more slice-of-life approach, at least in early episodes.

Plus, the prospect of Gohan and Videl's wedding and Goku getting a job, are just too fantastic of concepts to pass up on.
