If Vegeta did become a Super Saiyan in the future, he'd have to be pitifully weak. Like weaker than Namek Goku. I personally see Vegeta by the Trunks saga already stronger than Namek Goku, so I don't see Future Vegeta having obtained Super Saiyan.

Why would he have to be weaker than Namek Goku and not as strong a SSJ Trunks (vs. Mecha Frieza)? "Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Because, Future Gohan would (or should) know Future Vegeta's strength, and tried taking on the Androids. If he knew Vegeta's strength, and knew Vegeta lost, it'd make no sense for him to think he had a chance.fadeddreams5 wrote:Why would he have to be weaker than Namek Goku and not as strong a SSJ Trunks (vs. Mecha Freeza)? O.o
SS Yardrat Goku > SS Future Trunks (initial) > One arm SS Future Gohan > Two arm SS Future Gohan > SS Future Vegeta
For all of that to fit above Namek Goku, you'd need Goku to get a lot stronger on Yardrat.

Wait, how can one armed Gohan be stronger than two armed Gohan? Wouldnt losing an arm weaken him and hamper his H2H capabilities?

Gohan lost his arm fighting Future #17 (<50%). Gohan after training thought he could beat Future #17 (<50%).

I does not necessarily mean that he was stronger. The Cyborgs were terrorising the city and killing innocents. Gohan did not have much of choice but to stand a fight. He wouldn't shy away from a fight when people are being killed.SSJ2FutureGohan wrote:Gohan lost his arm fighting Future #17 (<50%). Gohan after training thought he could beat Future #17 (<50%).

He told #17 he's been training hard and that he wouldn't lose this round. Odd remarks to make if he didn't change in strength, no?AvatarReiko wrote:I does not necessarily mean that he was stronger. While it's probable to believe that Future Gohan was indeed stronger than Future Vegeta, the former doesn't have to be worlds above the latter. Even a subtle gap between the two would make sense.
In any case, Gohan's estimation on the power necessitated to defeat the androids may have not been accurate for the following reasons:
-Because he was likely a kid when Vegeta was defeated, he may not have had a precise assessment on the prince's power.
-Even if he did have a pretty good sense on where Vegeta stood, without the ability to sense the androids' ki, there's really no way for him to pinpoint the level of power needed to secure victory.
As for Gohan's courageous stand against the androids, he was basically the last line of defense, so sitting around wasn't really a luxury he could afford. Regardless of where his power was at, boldly stepping into the fight with his head up high was basically the only option. Besides, how many times has a fighter initially asserted confidence, only to get decimated?
My point is, even if he was in fact weaker, he's not going to verbally admit defeat before the fight / rematch even starts.

Or Vegeta never became a Super Saiyan.
