Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
I dunno. Beerus doesn't feel very necessary if he's just gonna end up destroying everything. It feels like it's total overkill to essentially destroy everything rather than a necessity. Yeah I've always known he works on a whim, but even then I thought the whim was within reason. I could see him getting carried away, but to such a degree to wipe out everything? I think that's a bit much.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
I think the Elder Kai was just exaggerating. Beerus knows destroying the universe isn't in anyway necessary. I mean Toriyama stated that Beerus didn't destroy the kaioshin realm because it wasn't proper meaning he knows what and what not to destroy, so I don't think there's anyway he'd destroy the universe, even if he was extremely annoyed.

The role of God of destruction =/= Beerus.dbzfan7 wrote:I dunno. Beerus doesn't feel very necessary if he's just gonna end up destroying everything. Just like the old Kaioshin is a much better Kaioshin than the young one, there are people out there who would be better god of destruction and worse gods of destruction.
We saw Beerus hint at someone else taking over the role of god of destruction in his movie. Obviously, that someone wouldn't act exactly like Beerus. As we know, Beerus doesn't act because of his job and its purpose, only because of his whims. Someone who had that role and actually acted solely in line with the purposes of his job, would be a better god of destruction.
Fans shouldn't believe that everything that Beerus does is the best way to be the god of destruction just because he is the current god of destruction. That would be like saying that everything that Kami did as Kami is flawless, while what Dende does as Kami is also flawless, when its obvious that they won't act exactly the same way, so, obviously, one of them would have a better response regarding certain situations than the other one.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Well after seeing the episode subbed...yeah seems like perhaps the role is necessary, but Beerus was a terrible pick for the role.rereboy wrote:The role of God of destruction =/= Beerus.dbzfan7 wrote:I dunno. Also apparently destroying 8 1/2 planets in half a day is impressive feat wise apparently...so people make of that as you will.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
He is not really terrible, most people on the universe with his power and status would abuse their power and status even harder, but I think fans need to realize that he is not truly neutral, he has a great degree of neutrality to him but he is also selfishly evil and that he uses his job as an excuse to fulfill his whims.dbzfan7 wrote:

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Destroying 8 planets isn't an impressive feat. They are scared because if Beerus continues in this way, he could wipe out the Universe really fast.
A God of Destruction is needed but the actual one is a crazy cat who wants to destroy as many things as possible.
I don't think Whis would allow it to happen though.

Just watched the episode subbed.
So how long until the "Beerus is a universe buster!" claims start going around the internet?

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Teleportation isn't speed though. Or it's an undefined speed at best.dbzfan7 wrote:Slower. Shunkan Ido is instant. Whis' method of traveling is not instant. So long as Goku hones in on a ki signature, he can teleport there instantly. Whis has to take a precedent amount of time everywhere he goes. Though Shunkan Ido is teleporting and not a speed feat per say. In FNF I believe Whis mentions it'd take some time to get to earth, and Bulma suggests Goku teleport since it'd be much faster.irreality wrote:Whis stated that he can travel at the fastest possible speed for this universe -- that is a feat. I don't know how it compares to instant transmission, whether that is not considered to be a speed.Bullza wrote:I didn't see much in the way of feats in this weeks episode unless there were comments which I haven't seen because the episode hasn't been subbed yet.
He did lift some huge weights though.

They already are.

This has probably already been mentioned and I'm just slow to realise it but I just saw it on another forum and it made me wonder.
In episode 1 they mentioned that Goku was #1 in the Universe after having beat Buu so does this mean he was stronger than Gohan? Gotenks? That doesn't seem right.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Gohan didn't train for those 6 months therefore he lost half of his powers. Gotenks only works for 30 minutes and goku could easily out last that. but we all know who is the strongest in the inverse is....Mr. Satan!

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
If Goku could at least last half an hour against Super Buu he wouldn't have been terrified and scared shit to fight him with Vegeta helping. So it still doesn't make sense (I do see that it's a joke post)Ushabtis wrote:Gohan didn't train for those 6 months therefore he lost half of his powers. Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
It was Vegeta in episode 2 and Super is the continuation of the anime, where it's made abundantly clear that Goku is top dog, so yeah no real surprises there.Bullza wrote:In episode 1 they mentioned that Goku was #1 in the Universe after having beat Buu so does this mean he was stronger than Gohan? So Goku was boosted up or the others were nerfed?

No one has been nerfed... yet. It's just Toei's, and to an extension Toriyama's, insistence that Goku truly is the strongest "hero" in universe.Bullza wrote:So Goku was boosted up or the others were nerfed?

The others were simply ignored.Bullza wrote:So Goku was boosted up or the others were nerfed?
I suppose we'll find out soon enough, if Super's rendition of everyone vs Beerus will acknowledge them one last time, before they become utterly irrelevant.

we need the great revival of Piccolo. We need a powerful being that isn't a saiyan.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
They had a bunch of them fight in RoF that's the most we've seen them fight in ages. Tien, Piccolo and Krillin (except for the fat guy he one shotted) haven't had a fight scene since they were getting the kick crapped out of them by the Cell Jr's. They fired off a blast here and there but haven't actually done squat since then.
Roshi hadn't even fought since the King Piccolo saga except for that one movie he appeared in. That was one reason why I enjoyed the movie, I hope Super can get people like Yamcha and the others involved in there.

nothing wrong wanting piccolo to be a powrful character again. It was sad (but funny) to see what happened to him in the buu saga.
