But a Kikuchi replacement score would be an exception?

Just because I would like it better doesn't mean that I would like the idea of it. It might be a better score, but if it was a replacement score I would still say it shouldn't have been done. As TheBlackPaladin said:

As I said in my earlier post, I'm not beyond admitting--even if it's reluctantly and begrudgingly--that I like a replacement score better, and I do indeed like Rory McFarlane's replacement score for Cyber City Oedo 808 much, much more than the original score by Kazz Toyama.

Haha, well in all honesty, I haven't seen that movie yet, but I do know that the soundtrack was replaced, and I am familiar with how commonly it is brought up in the many "soundtrack debates" that we see among anime fans. I feel like now I have to see it!
You do. Discotek has the license, and judging from what they've said, their upcoming set is going to be awesome.

I'm nostalgic for the dub of it, but the original Japanese score is amazing.

Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie is one of the few cases where I enjoy the original Japanese and re-versioned dub audio equally.

The score for the original is very much influenced by 80's action movies/martial arts films, so there's a lot more subtlety and slow builds.

The replacement music used in the dub is basically a 90-minute rock/metal music video. But the music chosen still works; also because the soundtrack knows when to shut up doesn't overstay its welcome.

Looking forward to that new Blu-Ray from Discotek!
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Yeah, I can agree with that.

They're both very different, but they're both done very well. I prefer the original, but they're definitely both worth watching.

Fine, I believe you, I respect that, but I still think that for some folks, somewhere deeeep down, they know they'll make this an exception, despite them saying how disrespectful replacements are.
