I think he was parodying pro wrestling (and that's why I think TFS took the direction of those episodes the way they did because they felt the same way).

Wrestlers back then had poses and phrases they used to get over. Japan less so, but the WWF is notorious for the outrageous characters. The Ginyus are also huge guys save for Guldo, who could represent the midgets in wrestling.

Obviously Toriyama was aware of Hogan since in the early 90s Hogan was doing tours in Japan. Around the same time Mr Satan appeared, Hogan was doing a gig over there in 1992/93 (with the famous clip of him declaring the WWF belt as a toy compared to the Japanese federation title). No way did Toriyama not know of this since in Japan, wrestling was (and I still think is) a huge industry.

Recoome is very much a parody of a wrestler. No doubt.
A few problems with your statements:

1) The entire Ginyu Force is a parody of Power Rangers (or rather, the genre).

2) The reason there's a pic of Arnold among those Hogan poses is because he was a Mr. Olympia winner. The pose has been standard in bodybuilding since prior to its inception in 1965. Hogan's either stealing it from bodybuilders or from Arnold's wins specifically. Arnold's career as a Mr. Olympia winner was kind of a big deal in the bodybuilding world and outside of it (it's why he became world-famous prior to his acting career). To this day, only two people have beaten his record, nobody else has ever come out of retirement like he did, and it's widely debated that if the two who had beaten his record competed against him then they would lost. He's indisputably among the top three bodybuilders of all time, arguably #1.

I heard that Akira Toriyama guy kinda has a love-hate relationship with the series.

But really, I wonder what Michael Jackson thought of the show, seeing that Bubbles was named after his pet chimpanzee. I would assume he saw it, seeing that he'd lounge around a lot, actually blowing off concerts during the Invincible era to watch TV (mainly cartoons); which coincidentally was when DBZ was absolutely huge in America. This behavior wasn't just a thing when he had kids either, it was something he always did, which you can see by how much he loved the Simpsons and the various clips of Akira and Zillion in the "Scream" music video (I'd imagine this particular influence stems from his time in Japan during the Bad tour).

This came off really awkwardly, but Arin has stated numerous times he's a huge fan of DBZ, along with Ross (whose wife hates it) and John. I recall Barry being mentioned as a fan, but treat that as hearsay. He also owns a few Z figures, which can be seen in the 'Grump Room'. Most prominently would be Vegeta from the S.H. Figuarts line.

1 - Super Sentai, which Power Rangers comes from, but close enough.

2 - Hogan was a fan of bodybuilding, though I'm not sure he took it from Arnold specifically. I just think he used common body building poses because it showed off his muscles.

Is there any proof that Joss Whedon is actually a DBZ fan other than a single reference in an episode of Buffy? I know James Marsters was, but I don't know if Joss or his brother are.

No, Hogan rips off Super Star Billy Graham. At least Jesse Ventura admits to it while Hogan does not. Check out Youtube videos of Graham and maybe those poses are there. Of course though Mr. Satan = Hulk Hogan...wrestler who is the hero of the world (at least in his own mind). Guess you weren't around when Hulkamania was running wild in the 1980s. Hogan WAS wrestling as far as that went. It's no wonder Toriyama would use him as the model for Mr. Satan...

Michael Jackson also had YuYuHakusho in his video which was pretty popular and a Shonen Rival to Dragon Ball at the time.

And Graham rips off Mohammed Ali. Hogan hasn't come right out and said that he took much of his persona from Graham, but he has said he was a big fan and influenced by him. I don't know if Hogan was the inspiration as much as people's perceptions of American pro wrestlers in general.

She did wear a Vegeta OVER 9000!!! shirt at Wrestlemania. AJ Lee wore a similar shirt a while ago and she's a self-professed Anime fan, so I think it's more than safe to assume she's a DB fan as well.

The band Hands Like Houses are fans of Dragon Ball Z. They once shared an AMV that included one of their songs (https://twitter.com/handslikehouses/sta ... 0238817280) and they also said on Twitter that their favourite super hero is Goku (https://twitter.com/handslikehouses/sta ... 7149227008). They're an awesome band.
