Am I the only one here who thinks Metalwario's correction really isn't all THAT amazing? I mean, it's not awful or anything, but you're acting like it's the second coming of Toriyama or something.

I'd prefer if it were reminiscent of the Saiyan-Namek arc art styles.

Hey guys, I can take poor shots from DBZ and say that DBZ had horrible animation just like what you guys are doing for Super.

You can't judge an entire series on a few poor shots.

Re: New Animation VS Old Animation
Very few people are doing that. Stop generalizing everyone here. That last shot also comes from an episode with decent animation.

I just watched the fight. The frames posted here are barely noticeable unless you pause the video on one of them. The only significantly noticeable poor shot is when Goku stands still for several seconds with Beerus on the left of the screen and King Kai behind them.

I noticed them without pausing very easily. Same with the old DBZ animation if it's too bad. Super 5 was just a terrible ass animated episode like how Z sometimes had it. It happens. Doesn't mean people won't complain about it.Zenkai wrote:I just watched the fight. The frames posted here are barely noticeable unless you pause the video on one of them. Goku's horribly off model throughout the entire episode, whether it's in stills or animations. I noticed several things without having to pause anything. Even the electricity doesn't flow right. This threads about animation, Super isn't exempt because it's a new ongoing serial.

Yeah. There are still things about my drawing that bug me, and I couldn't do any variable line width because GIMP doesn't like my tablet.Puto wrote:Am I the only one here who thinks Metalwario's correction really isn't all THAT amazing? Plus, I am NOT an animator. I really don't know much about the trade, though I admit to dabbling with some here and there... with really unsatisfying results.
Heh, I was just trying to emulate Yamamuro's current style.Sayo-chan wrote:Ditto.Puto wrote:Am I the only one here who thinks Metalwario's correction really isn't all THAT amazing? I mean, it's not awful or anything, but you're acting like it's the second coming of Toriyama or something.

It isn't really worth it to emulate Yamamuro because everyone does it and it doesn't even look good. Get better at drawing the Saiyan arc style and become a leader of a movement that will eventually effect Toei.Metalwario64 wrote:Heh, I was just trying to emulate Yamamuro's current style.Sayo-chan wrote:Ditto.Puto wrote:Am I the only one here who thinks Metalwario's correction really isn't all THAT amazing? My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

Haha, you're greatly overestimating me if you believe I could ever influence Toei, or any company for that matter.Attitudefan wrote:Get better at drawing the Saiyan arc style and become a leader of a movement that will eventually effect Toei.

Why are fans on the other side of the world so naive that they think they can influence Toei with a couple of fan drawings on the internet?
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Quick, somebody hire Ryoo-Chimo as the character designer so we can get designs better than any previous look!
I actually thought Gokuu's reaction to Beers' second attack was okay. Animators don't need to copy others' drawings to express their own ideas. It was a perfectly fine expression, the 'correction' just turns it into a comical one, rather than one of shock and pain so great it contorts his body.

Golden clothes on SSJ3 Goku? Hells yeah!Metalwario64 wrote:That is awesome! Here's my completed version of the SS3 Goku shot:
I've never liked how did they change that with the most recent animations, I know that makes it closer to the manga, but I prefer it when the change in colors for the clothes is more drastic with each transformation.
