Why can't people accept Cell's Solar Kamehameha

I don't know why some people here and elsewhere insist he was bluffing of hyping himself up. He is a skilled fighter and has good battle sense, so I doubt he was just plain wrong about how strong he was. And as for lying, why? What would he gain? Scaring Gohan some more? Maybe, but the simpler answer is that he really was about to blow away the solar system. Some people deny it because of a lack of "feats". But Dragonball in general has almost none of this. Goku and Freeza in Ressurection "F" looked to me like they were punching each other about as hard and fast as they were on Namek. If I go on "feats" should I conclude that neither of them have actually gotten stronger and both are just bluffing or lying? Of course not. So why give Cell such a hard time about that statement? Honestly, is it even so strange for a fictional supervillian from a series known for ridiculous OPness to be able to destroy a fictional solar system of unknown size?

If Cell was talking about an explosion wave, I could buy him being able to destroy a Solar System. The thing is, the Kamehameha is a linear, guided blast that only goes in one direction: forward. So unless Cell made it spin over and over and over until it annihilated everything or directed that thing into the sun, I fail to see how him just firing it at Gohan could cause such devastation.

Because Gohan's blast knocked it back. It's the same reason Vegeta's Garlic Ho didn't destroy the Earth. Goku bounced it back.

Technically he could still have that power in his Kamehameha, even if he did use the wrong blast for the destruction . As far as his power per se goes I do not doubt he can.

It would definitely have the power but yeah, its the wrong type of blast to use if 360 degree type destruction is what you're aiming to do. Unless he was also aiming that sucker at the sun which is quite possible too.

To where? He would have to sense someone to teleport to, and he doesn't know where to look. And we all know what happened when Goku tried to teleport out of the way of a large explosion. He couldn't do it.

Kaio was dead. Instant Transmission doesn't just let people teleport at will; they need to lock on to something to anchor them. And it requires total concentration. How's Cell gonna do that with the equivalent of a supernova in his face, when Buu Arc Goku couldn't do it?

Goku wasn't surprised, he saw the blast coming, and had time to grab Mr. Satan and Dende. He just couldn't concentrate.
