God, it's so clear Toei doesn't care anymore. I wonder if this series will even make it to the final arc.

Well, they are not that bad. Especially the first one, I don't see anything wrong with it. Try some of the Cell or Boo arc episodes, he looked just hideous in some of them, especially the ones drawn by Last House.

I think the one where Vegeta went to the Namekian village and him having a awkwardly drawn body and face is probably the worst

Avery: The way his face is shaped, reminds me of troll face

SSJ3 Vegeta: If i remember corerectly, it was only that one scene, where he looked so strange, while in episode 33, he looked awkward almost all time

The first and last shot look fine, since I'm pretty sure they're the work of Kan'no.
Even the middle two are just typical Ebisawa work. It's not like his Lupin Vegeta which was extraordinarily bad.

Still not as bad as Goku and Beerus in Super episode 5 though

Still better than episode 5 of DBS.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I'm just about done with the concept of reboots and making shows that were products of their time and impactful "new and sexy" and in line with modern tastes and sensibilities. Let stuff stay in their era and give today's kids their own shit to watch.
I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about
your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Lupin Vegeta is still the reigning champ as far as I'm concerned.

I always liked how the armors would be drawn in wildly different shapes. Those shoulder pads always look interesting when they're off-model.

Seconding this as the champ. :3
I wish I had a link to that cover Ryo Horikawa sang of the Lupin III theme song, I'd reply with it.
On hiatus.

Yeah. Studio Live in particular just seemed to have lots of trouble with both Vegeta and Saiyan armor. They always made Vegeta's forehead look like it was about five feet tall all on its own. And the shoulder pads were just so... pointy. You could cut someone with those!
Of course, by the Cell arc, Last House had gotten so bad that it had the opposite problem. Their armor looked like it was made out of Play-Doh. At least by that point, Studio Live didn't have to worry about shoulder pads anymore.

That and by the time the Cell arc has rolled around Kan'no Toshiyuki was doing more key animation and his cuts were no longer being corrected by Ebisawa Yukio, who wasn't as good an animator as him. Kan'no even managed to work on episodes headlined by supervisors other than Ebisawa, so I'm wondering if he didn't take a lot of extra inspiration from working under them?

Just now i just realized how slow the pacing in DBZ is,episode 33 in Dragon Ball Kai is alreay at the Ginyu vs. Goku fight, the Vegeta vs. Goku fight in Kai is around at episode 16.

Z animation looked sometimes bad but the movement colors, music and sound effects compensate for it.
In Super everything is bad not only the animation.

Because we all know that no one can criticize Z animation without immediately following it by going on about how Super is worse, as if that validates it.
It's like GT all over again
