So now Freeza sounds just as bad, except this time tons of Dub fans get screwed out of a voice that they loved?

Ayres' Freeza sounds like friggin Ezma from The Emperor's New Groove.

Freeza: Pull the lever Zarbon...WRONG LEVER!!!
Okay so Linda Young had 11 years to be the VA for Freeza... (which I really didn't like)
Yet.. you give this guy 1 line of dialogue and a laugh and say its a fucking joke?
I'm not trying to play Devil's advocate.. but it's ONE LINE (MAYBE 5 seconds).. Can't you give it more of a chance at least?
All I'm saying is can't we be a little more optimistic, rather than throwing this guy under the bus for 5 seconds worth of dialogue?
I'm sorry. But a voice is a voice. He was clearly brought in to sound similar to Linda. They should have just stuck with her. His acting could be great. That doesn't matter. This will NEVER be Freeza to me. It's not Young and it's certainly no Nakao. This voice will just be nothing more than Linda Young's replacement to me.

We all KNOW why Linda Young isn't doing it anymore.

And I'm guessing everyone ELSE is mad because they took something WAY out of context and formed false assumptions and then it wasn't the way they wanted it, they are all 'fuck this, I'm out'.

How is "the best English representation of Nakao in any dub evar!" to be taken any other way? :?

She was given a chance. Sabat said she was having trouble doing the lines given to her as Freeza, which prompted the switch.

Sounds like Linda, lol, ah you people with your selective hearing.

Yes, because she sucked, and always would suck, as Freeza.

Oh my God, I was the first one to guess his new voice actor correctly on FUNi's Twitter contest. I can't believe I just won the DBZ Kai DVD.

I'm so happy, I could squirt.

I'm sorry but something just sounds fishy about that. It seems rather obvious that FUNimation (Or Sabat) is trying to get rid of people who aren't a part of their main talent pool. I mean, who's been replaced here? Nadolny. Done nothing but Gohan. Vollmer. Again, nothing but Bulma. And now Young. Just Freeza and Genkai.

Jeez. If you're trying to hype up your Dub more based on names. Just have Vic Mignogna play every role -_-

Honestly, I think we maybe were all a bit foolish for actually expecting any other-language performance to possibly measure up to Ryusei Nakao's.

And as a mod-issued reminder, let's try to keep our heads on our shoulders about this, and not let any arguments start raging, a'ight?

Linda? Nah...It doesn't sound like her at all really.. I don't think anyways. And.. Well yeah all 3 VA's are different people, so no one voice will be EXACTLY the same. But if ya don't like it... don't watch it. I just have a feeling you WILL watch more, even though you're complaining about it right now. People prefer different things, of course.. however, I just don't see how someone can really judge something like this so quickly.

...Um NO? It's not because she sucked, just in character she couldn't keep up with the script as well as someone else could...and they went a found that someone else.

Were people expecting this? I was just expecting...not Newstone 2.0. Don't get me wrong it's awesome I just wasn't expecting it.

Raging Blast.

Man, I suppose that I would be satisfied if the future performances are much improved, like if he can pull off some crazy Nakao screams, which could potentially put him ahead of Nakao's Kai performance!

As foolish as it may seem, all of the people saying stuff like "I never though we'd get a great rendition of Nakao's unique voice in English, until I heard this new bettar voice!!1" around, I believed they would be going for a more Nakao performance...

So I just heard the new voice on Nicktoons....yeah, I can definitely hear that the guy is kind of using that same tone as the previous actresses, but I can hear other elements to the voice that make me think this guy has potential, and I hope he won't stick to trying to sound like an old lady who's trying to sound like a man. Definitely has some 'creepy alien' undertones to it. And, hey, at least it's a man this time, right?

Of course I'm still going to watch. I love DragonBall and I love the core Dub cast. A Freeza voice that I don't like isn't going to shy me away from the Dub. But that doesn't mean I have to like it.
