The majority of his fanbase appear to be fangirls. Link that together and you'll have your answer.Castor Troy wrote:Also, Future Trunks has no personality. I don't see why he has such a big fanbase other than the fact that he's Vegeta's son. The beginning of Movie 7 confirms this.

I'm not one to go "oh, fangirls~" but that does seem to explain most of his popularity. Such a boring, boring character.Piccolo Daimao wrote:The majority of his fanbase appear to be fangirls. Re: Your most hated character
What makes Future Trunk's mild blandness acceptable in my eyes, is that he is one character who would not do well to be fun loving and optimistic or anything like that. His whole life has been one big hell, and though he is a little one dimensional, he kind of stands out for being possibly the most heroic character in the series.
Yo! Cal's the name. Nice to meet you!

And he never grew up. If he looked like that now he wouldn't have even been BORN! For God's sakes, anyone with a brain could see that.Friggin_Krillin wrote:Hate is a strong word but i really dislike Tarble for showing up (in generally) decades after the Freeza era. Then his weak personality, his taste in 'women' which is just ridiculous, and that he can't handle two plump Freeza Soldiers. Not a great surprise that Vegeta doesn't care much about his brother.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

Re: Your most hated character
I had heard all about people hating Pan for a long time before I ever watched GT. Then I watched it, shes not that bad....
Re: Your most hated character
I actually hate Funi's Pan more than Toei's Pan. She sounds much more complaining and irritating in Funi's dub.violadude wrote:I had heard all about people hating Pan for a long time before I ever watched GT. Then I watched it, shes not that bad....
And for some reason I hate Bulma's Funi voice too, especially when she is complaining.

Why not? Someone asked you to follow-up and explain why. This is a message board with a vast amount of discussion in all sorts of places. We frown upon just tossing out a thought without any sorts of elaboration. If you have an opinion and feeling, express why it is you think that way so others can join in. Not sure why you think that's so outlandish.Lord Exor wrote:Surely you can't be serious.powerupguy wrote:Could you elaborate please?Lord Exor wrote:Saiyans. Re: Your most hated character
How disappointing, I was hoping someone would rebuke me with "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley."
It's quite simple really--I'm merely parroting the sentiments expressed by our dear Lord Frieza and his ilk. I would have thought that self-evident.
He is my favorite character, so why not be xenophobic right along with him? After all, he is correct; Saiyans are disgusting, barbaric creatures without any sense of decorum .

Well, sorry if no one knew that your favorite character was Freeza or that you were talking in-character.

Re: Your most hated character
I find it ironic that Freeza was my most hated character simply because of her dub voice actress.
Back then, I thought Freeza was just an annoying gay villain with feminine lines.
BUT, after reading the manga and watching the Japanese version of DBZ, Freeza has become one of my favorite characters.

Half and half perhaps? Saiyans aren't exactly renowned for their prodigious intellect; their culture is comprised of a brutish warrior code that cultivates an obtuse, myopic purview. In fact, the only intelligent Saiyans I can recall are half-breeds--they must get their genius from their human genes.Great Saiyaman I wrote:Well, sorry if no one knew that your favorite character was Freeza or that you were talking in-character.

Re: Your most hated character
Vegeta's not intelligent at all. He didn't craftily steal the Dragonballs from Freeza on Namek, or come up with the entire Spirit Bomb plan at the end of the manga or anything.Lord Exor wrote:Saiyans aren't exactly renowned for their prodigious intellect; their culture is comprised of a brutish warrior code that cultivates an obtuse, myopic purview. Oh, and completely ignore the fact that Goku figured out how to achieve a more advanced SSJ form.
Re: Your most hated character
Yeah, there are no intelligent Saiya-jins out there. I mean, to learn to control their great ape transformations, and to divide themselves into groups to efficiently battle other opponents, to make techniques such as the moon ball, where an absence of a moon doesn't mean no great ape, that's pretty unintelligent.Zephyr wrote:Vegeta's not intelligent at all. Freeza on the other hand was a very smart fellow. He deliberately killed off all Namekians but one, before even asking how to use the Dragonballs to begin with. He also overestimated his own power and underestimated other warriors' powers. That is a sign of intelligence. If that isn't, I don't know what is.

Oh and you can't forget that time Vegeta totally didn't figure out how to sense ki on his own.
