Good point. I know a fair bit about the Anime Industry, and I just don't see why Toei would be against streaming the Dragon Box footage, but be a-okay with streaming the Season Set footage. It's essentially the same show.

Well 1 reason could be that people could just screen record and essentially get the show for free with the best video quality/audio quality available.

Online streaming most of the time is no where even close to DVD quality...
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Most of the time it really isn't*,but I do like streaming on Hulu directly for 480p.

Netflix quality is pretty nice, hopefully like the other FUNi shows their in their HD formats (Well 480p, not 360p or 240p.)

As for what version they use, I don't give a flying you-know-what. I'm picky about everything, usually and yes... they both have things I don't like about them. Oh No.

You know what'll piss A LOT of dub fans off?
Is for, the dub? If they use the DBox footage..with Faulconer's score.

I doubt they'll even be using Dragon Box footage. It sort of defeats the point of the expensive sets if they're just going to make it available for free.

I dunno... I think that could be said about streaming the show in any form. If the show (or any show for that matter) is available for free, will it sell less? Maybe...? Or maybe those people would just pirate it anyways, so it doesn't change much. Or maybe!...having the show available for free and easy viewing will get new people into the show, and therefore create new fans who will support the show with purchases! :D

True, and aren't the sets SUPPOSE to be limited now? (I call bullshit on that statement now in a way because none of the sets have ran out of print completely).

If online streaming of any show caused a drop in sales, it would've happened a long time ago and sites like Crunchyroll would've been shut down. I doubt we have anything to worry about in terms of streams.

This reminds me of the time people DVRed the Toonami broadcast of the uncut first two seasons of DBZ. Boy, was that painful.

Overall, no it wouldn't drop sales. Most of those people would just pirate the show anyways, so sales are the same. But all people are different. Some still pirate because: "Fansubs are better translated", "'This site' has them a few days sooner", or "Fansubs don't have commercials".

And for some people, if they can watch it for free, they won't buy when they otherwise would have. But as I said, overall, things are unaffected. At least with sites like Hulu, FUNi's getting money that they should.

Alright, I think we can be pretty sure that FUNi only has rights to release the Dragon Box footage on a Dragon Box, as if they did have ALL the rights then they would use that footage for the stream.

Poor streaming fans will have to endure Nappa foaming at the mouth and Vegeta's Bukkake moment. :x

I honestly think that the streams are for the casual fans who just don't care about music or picture quality.

How can you be so sure of this? It seems they only plan on the Dragon Box being a premium, exclusive release.

I have a hard time accepting this as bad news as it doesn't affect me at all. Like, at all, at all. Though I am surprised to see the dub version will be streaming with the US Broadcast music. That's a shocker, considering the recent moves by FUNimation.

This announcement had me thinking of what will happen once Funimation gets around to streaming Kai: Would it be the Uncut DVD version, or would it be the Nicktoons edit in an attempt to get fans to buy the DVDs for the "Uncut Experience"?
