Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
Would it be possible for someone to post an approximate timeline of how the final version of this Bardock special is laid out? Thus, a person who owns all this footage could make their own one. (purely for personal use, of course...)VegettoEX wrote:I discussed this project a little bit with Kaboom on the podcast episode that will be going up at some point today, but if you've been following along with this thread, that's almost too general to really care about (and I've done more work on it since we recorded that bit). For those that want the nitty gritty, here is a full update along with some screen shots.

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
Since this isn't going up, could we try to work something out? Maybe you could upload bits and bits like with the "10 Things" videos. Then, remove them from the site after a few hours or so. You'll get a limited audience; it doesn't seem that bad.
An interviewer asks, "The soundtrack in Sonic 3 has become legendary. Is it true that you worked with Michael Jackson on it?" Takashi Iizuka kills all of our hopes and dreams by replying, "You know, those are just rumors, and SEGA does not want to say anything about them. So they will forever be just rumors..." WHY!?

I basically did that very thing in the post you're quoting from.Ginyu Taiko wrote:Would it be possible for someone to post an approximate timeline of how the final version of this Bardock special is laid out? Extremely unlikely.DBZfan29 wrote:Since this isn't going up, could we try to work something out? Maybe you could upload bits and bits like with the "10 Things" videos. Then, remove them from the site after a few hours or so. You'll get a limited audience; it doesn't seem that bad.

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
I don't mean to put a project on someone, but maybe Team Four Star or some group could dub it? That would be okay to put out, right?
Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
There is no need for a dub.batistabus wrote:I don't mean to put a project on someone, but maybe Team Four Star or some group could dub it? That would be okay to put out, right?

It's not the dub he's concerned about, it's actually seeing it.DNA wrote:There is no need for a dub.batistabus wrote:I don't mean to put a project on someone, but maybe Team Four Star or some group could dub it? That would be okay to put out, right?

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
How would that work then? If it's dubbed it's no longer illegal?DBZfan29 wrote:It's not the dub he's concerned about, it's actually seeing it.DNA wrote:There is no need for a dub.batistabus wrote:I don't mean to put a project on someone, but maybe Team Four Star or some group could dub it? I'm not 100% sure, but don't fan dubs fall under fair use?DNA wrote:How would that work then? If it's dubbed it's no longer illegal?DBZfan29 wrote:It's not the dub he's concerned about, it's actually seeing it.DNA wrote: There is no need for a dub.

That's a big fat "maybe" with some extra "depends" sprinkled on top.

A parody has at least a sliver's chance in Hell of falling under fair-use, but a legitimate derivative work produced without proper licensing is without a doubt illegal.batistabus wrote:I'm not 100% sure, but don't fan dubs fall under fair use?
This is all vague USA law, by the way. I don't know what the law in Uganda is.

Mike, don't you have contacts? Ask someone if we could see it... haha.

Fine, then have someone parody it
I just want to see it!

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
Hey guys, I know I'm not really active around the forums but I saw this thread and just sorted my password out. I own and run DragonFlick Z, I don't know if any of you have heard about it? But we host Dragonball Z videos from users such as WeeklyTubeShow, TeamFourStar and many more. I'd be more than glad to host your directors cut of the Bardock special if you would like.
DragonFlick Z 2.0 in the works.. if you are a Dragonball Youtuber, feel free to get in touch.

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
You can read back a couple posts to get the whole story. In a nutshell, hosting isn't an issue. It's not that we CAN'T get this project out there, it's that we WON'T.
Especially coming from a large entity like Daizenshuu EX, there are far too many international legal issues that I'm simply not willing to get involved with. It just won't be done.
Thus, alternate viewing ideas (such as conventions).

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
Out of curiosty--and I'm not speaking about the whole thing--what about simply putting up the altered bits? At the most we're only talking about a few minutes--if that--and it'd allow us to understand the actual 'fan created' elements of the project.

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
I'll likely do a couple clips (and probably only within the confines of the forum), particularly the ones I did some fancy sound editing on. I'll also definitely release my "AMV" continuation of the Saiyan/Tsufurian introduction, too.

Ah, peaches. I'm really interested in how it all transitions, so I'm looking forward to these.VegettoEX wrote:I'll likely do a couple clips (and probably only within the confines of the forum), particularly the ones I did some fancy sound editing on.
