Who's Stronger: Janemba or Hirudegarn.

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Not really. He added a cape; a mere piece of clothing. Goten and Trunks actually morphed Buu's body, which indicates larger influence.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke

Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Perhaps I overstated. He's stronger than Goku, just not by much, since Piccolo still wasn't too sure he could take care of fatso.

Yeah, but Goten & Trunks were in base inside Boo.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Piccolo never showed any doubts about SS Goten against Innocent Boo.

Yeah, Super Boo. Trunks says he thinks they've improved enough to at least equal Boo in normal fusion. As arrogant as he can be, that seems like a fair assessment. The issue here is that he underestimated Super Boo a whole lot. Super Boo probably wasn't emitting much Chi when he arrived on the lookout, so they probably thought whatever level he was at was likely his best. You can never get a good feel until they power-up and start fighting, so I can see why Trunks thought Base would be enough to fight him on an even level.

The only thing Piccolo seemed to wonder about is Super Saiyan Gotenks's speed. His Chi seemed to be good enough. That and his limited time to fight were why Piccolo wanted Gotenks to not bother trying to fight Boo.

It also fits with the D7 statement about (base) Gotenks surpassing (SS2) Vegeta.

He wanted to see his movement in general actually, meaning that he just wanted to see him in action.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean he can't draw out their full power for absorption. I'd find it quite silly if he couldn't. And again, Goten and Trunks had more influence than Piccolo.

I think movement goes hand-in-hand with speed. Gotenks makes note of how slow Piccolo was, and how he should be convinced by his speed alone that Boo has no chance. We know power doesn't have to always equal great speed.

He just wanted to see him in action, that's all. Like in other cases, one can't just show his true power just by standing around.

Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote:That's a good point. Boo does tell Gohan he has 10 mins left during their battle, so he definitely stretched the fusion time.
That's not known though. We don't know how long Super Buu's and Gotenks fight was. It might have been less than 15 minutes and Super Buu would assume that's how long Gotenks fusion could last. Also Super Buu didn't know about SSJ3 shortening their fusion. So lets say their fight was 14 minutes long up till Gotenks defuses. Super Buu would probably assume 14 minutes was the time limit. And since he had no idea about SSJ3 shortening the fusion down to about 5 minutes, he would assume Gotenks could stay fused for the whole 14 minutes. After 4 minutes he would think the fusion had 10 minutes left when in reality it only had 1 minute left.

Boo does know.

After he gets knocked off of the lookout, Gotenks yells out that his time is limited to 5 mins in his Super Saiyan 3 form. Boo goes on to mention this to Gohan--which is why he said he stalled for time before Gotenks was able to merge again.

And since Boo absorbed Gotenks, he gets all his knowledge & memories.

I just checked...and I was kinda off.

He just says his time is limited before having to wait another hr.

But like KOSDH says, he should retain full knowledge of everything Gotenks always knows.

Also, this is pretty interesting:
Trunks: “…But its weak point is time…See…We’re only able to become it for about 5 minutes…Then even our Fusion comes undone and we turn back into two people…”
Based on the above, I'd say how their fusion ends could be a random occurrence. When we see the fusion end, they reverted to Base Gotenks; when they reverted in the rosat, they split back into two. This is most likely what happened inside of Boo.

The way he says "then even our fusion becomes undone" seems like it refers to an event which follows in time , as in SSJ3 runs out, then the fusion runs out, which fits perfectly with what we actually see happen.

And where is it stated that Buu absorbs the knowledge and memories of the people he absorbs?

When Buu absorbs Piccolo, he starts quoting him during his fight with Gohan. He also starts using Gohan's name, which he never used before.
When he absorbs Gohan, he reveals that he knows that Goku, Vegeta, Goten, Gohan, and Trunks are Saiyans, and that Piccolo is a Namek, which he would have no way of knowing before absorbing them.

When they initially meet, Super Buu and Gohan didn't really do much talking. Plus Super Buu would have heard Trunks when he called out Gohan's name. I was unable to find everything else you mentioned in the scanlations I checked. You sure all that wasn't just anime filler? I did find this though:

(terrible illegal scanlation image/link removed by administrator)

Gotenks Buu doesn't know who Dende is. He should if he absorbed their memories.
