What do you hope not to see in Dragon Ball Super?

Actually until 2008 with Tarble's OVA, passing 2010 with Hatchyack's OVA remake and Dragon Ball Online and then 2011 with Episode of Bardock. No Kakarot's spotlight in these years (well, you could say a little in Tarble's OVA).

But the way you worded it made it seem like there has been many Dragon Ball series since GT to BOG. And besides, Goku got no more than half an hour of predominate screentime in Battle Of Gods, which was a 105 minute movie, in an all the significant screen time Goku get, he spends it getting his ass kicked by Beerus.Fishman wrote:those two things specifically being what i'm referring toLord Beerus wrote:The only time Goku was really hogging the spotlight was in GT and that ended in 97. What about the 2008 special? I suppose, he tried to let Goten and Trunks take the glory, but Goku was still the hero in the end.Lord Beerus wrote:But the way you worded it made it seem like there has been many Dragon Ball series since GT to BOG. I hate Mr Satan, I don't want anything to do with him at all, his schtick is so boring by now. Considering how Toriyama freaking loves him, I'm pretty much screwed though
I did think his GT scenes with Pan were cute, I just hate when he's all "I'm the champion lol no sorry my stomach hurts I'm outta here" it was funny the first time, now it's just overkill.

Agreed, I cannot stand Mr. Satan and do not accept him as part of the gang. He's just not interesting to me anymore.

Re: What do you hope not to see in Dragon Ball Super?
His gags are old, but he had a good run and ended up being great addition to Z. Certinately was more interesting than Goku at the end of the series. I don't think there needs to be more of him in everything but also no reason to disregard him.garnetjester wrote:I hate Mr Satan, I don't want anything to do with him at all, his schtick is so boring by now. I personally love Mr. Satan, but I'll agree that his more recent contributions have been:
>Mr. Satan walks in
>Mr. Satan does Mr. Satan-y things
>Mr. Satan walks out
When he is actually in the spotlight, his character development is very interesting and enjoyable. I'd like more of that.

I always thought Mr Satan had more Stone Cold-like contributions:batistabus wrote:I personally love Mr. Satan, but I'll agree that his more recent contributions have been:

Re: What do you hope not to see in Dragon Ball Super?
Any more new Super Saiyan transformations (other than Super Saiyan 5). The bland Kaio-ken rip off known as "Super Saiyan God" was bad enough, but "Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan"?, that looks like something straight out of a Dragon Ball AF fanfic.
Anything which goes out of it's way to discredit GT's existence.
Another villain who absorbs/possess people.
Super Saiyan 2 getting skipped over/neglected again like in GT.

If the decision was made that Super will be the new official continuation, then pretty much everything in the show will be discrediting GT. How does one even define when does "going out of its way" to discredit it starts and when it doesn't?Kakacarrottop wrote:Anything which goes out of it's way to discredit GT's existence.

Re: What do you hope not to see in Dragon Ball Super?
Even if it does, it's not like Toei is going to be like "Hey Super is the real sequel to DBZ and we are going to replace every copy of GT on DVD with Super. Every copy of GT is going to be recalled and burned! Enjoy GT while you can." GT will always exist and no matter what happens in Super. I would imagine if Super takes place after Goku leaves with Uub, GT will be view as a alternate sequel to GT. Even games like Xenoverse views GT as a different timeline to the main series.Kakacarrottop wrote:

No new Super Saiyan forms. First of all, SSGSS is pretty much the absolute best transformation Goku and Vegeta have - it channels a power far greater than Super Saiyan 3 with no strain. Anything more would be overkill. Plus, I don't want SSGSS to become the new SS2 (in that it would be overshadowed very quickly after its debut) or anything.
Don't be too alarmed if I just don't show up for a few months. Hooray for fleeting interests!

Re: What do you hope not to see in Dragon Ball Super?
Would a SSj5 be any different then what we got with the new god forms? A official SSj5 will likely look something from a straight out of a Dragon Ball AF fanfic too seeing that a real official SSj5 will likely be a gold or silver version of a SSj4. I'm not a huge fan of SSjGSSj, but a real SSj5 will likely be no better if you ask me.Kakacarrottop wrote:Any more new Super Saiyan transformations (other than Super Saiyan 5). Super Saiyan God says hello. What with us just having to accept that the characters who had it 'absorbed the power so they have it all the time guys!!' and now everyone is just jumping straight to turning blue instead of red.moochfloatjr wrote:No new Super Saiyan forms. Super Saiyan Blue is not a creative color.
DBZ Movie 3 told a stronger and more believable "Evil Goku" story in 60 minutes than Dragon Ball Super has in 20 episodes. And it did it with better visuals and score.

Re: What do you hope not to see in Dragon Ball Super?
If they're gonna use the furry GT concept then I suspect it's gonna be included in separate Oozaru progression line, not SSJ4. Seems clear that Toriyama doesn't want SSJ4, SSJ5 etc. New transformations for new toys to sell sure, he already did 2 new in past 2 years, but outside direct SSJ3 power-upHellspawn28 wrote:Would a SSj5 be any different then what we got with the new god forms? I never get why some fans say this about 2 considering it has more of an impact on the story then 3.moochfloatjr wrote:I don't want SSGSS to become the new SS2 (in that it would be overshadowed very quickly after its debut) or anything.
1- It was used by Gohan to defeat a main villain.
2- It was used by Goku&Vegeta in their rematch
3- It was used by Vegeta when he sacrificed himself.
4- It was used by Vegeta when he surpassed Goku.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: What do you hope not to see in Dragon Ball Super?
You mean Movie 14? If so, the interview which Toriyama said there won't be Super Saiyan 2 anymore kinda gives you an idea that Vegeta used Super Saiyan. At the end of the movie, Kakarot says "You transformed into an awesome Super Saiyan".sintzu wrote:4- It was used by Vegeta when he surpassed Goku.

He was talking about the events that follow BOG.Dyno wrote:

I don't think he meant it literally cause he went all out against Beerus so it makes sense that he used 2 and when he's powering up his aura changes before he attacks which means the form he is did as well.

Re: What do you hope not to see in Dragon Ball Super?
At least Super Saiyan God got some form of unique reasoning for disappearing. There was a huge gap between the debuts of Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2, and a very miniscule one between 2 and 3 - it got two good fights then disappeared.Fishman wrote:Super Saiyan God says hello.
