Did anyone else find the dub of this movie incredibly homo-erotic?
I am a Goku/Vegeta fan. That is my favourite movie. I will try not to babble out a fangurlish squeal of 'OMGYESYESYES!!!!'
Mushy expressions, mushy dialogue, (moreso in the japanese version, which also had a tad of mushy music) I'll just tell you fellas, us yaoi fangurls call that the -yaoi- movie.
(not even including the movie theme tune there...)
*tries VERY VERY hard not to babble and squeal*
It's the intense level of emotional bonding, whether you find that friendship or romance, (I like to call it the 'fine line') It's probably what makes the movie so great.
Everyone I know, and everyone who I know knows who has watched this movie, has found it, 'homo-erotic' so to speak. Heck, my sister, (on my french DVD) didn't even get past the loading screen before she was making jokes about it. My best friend's brother refuses to watch it *tilts head* In other words, you're definately not alone.
I supose I'm disapointed that my two favourite bits changed a bit. When Goku 'accidently' (who knows) pats Vegeta and he yells 'Don't touch me!' (which was ignored totaly in the dub *blink*) and the romantic - uh, I mean (sorry, yaoi-fan, I claim insanity) music at the end didn't have an equal partner in the dub *shrugs*
^_^;
The 'go, hide' bit was also lost, I thought that was entirely noble of Goku, and showing intelligence... Usually when it comes to other people's emotions, such as fear and sorrow (just look at the Cell saga) he shows total ignorance.
