FUNI Super dub - What are your wishes?

Hopefully the dub gets more consistent with Android 18. In Kai its Colleen Clinkenbeard but in BOG and Fukkatsu no F as well as Xenoverse, they had Meredith McCoy reprise back from the original Funi dub. So hopefully they decide on who they want to have stick around and continue to voice the character because it will get weird if we have 2 different people switching off on the same character.

Lets get Cherami Leigh into the franchise beyond just her one movie role. I hope she gets to voice a character in Dragon Ball Super she is an amazing VA. Bring Bryce Pappenbrook along for the ride as well in a new male role.

I think Meredith McCoy will continue to voice 18 since they clearly went back to her which they otherwise would not have done. She's clearly the definitive 18 in the dub.

That would make no sense. Whether people like the re-tellings or not, they are still an integral part of Super's story. FUNi don't need to pull a GT and skip the first arc or two just because they think he fanbase won't like it. There are still many fans of Dragon Ball who haven't watched Battle Of Gods and Resurrection F, believe it or not.

But as for realistic expectations... just keep up the same quality and standards they elevated themselves to with Kai. No music changes, accurate script, and retain the appropriate recasts that have already happened. I'm indifferent about McCoy vs Clinkenbeard as Eighteen, but Monica Rial should remain as Bulma and Chris Ayres definitely should and almost certainly will remain as Freeza.

They won't. They will probably get the blu ray/DVD version and that's it.

That's what I mean. Toei's redone some animation for the Blu-ray releases, and I would hope and expect that's the version they'd give FUNimation too.

I know it's sad to hear but toei has not reanimated or redone anything. I own the blu ray and all they did was corrected drawings of episode 5. Animation was the same in everything.

Well Funimation skipping the first half of GT was a bad idea anyways. They thought we would be idiots by calling them "Lost Episodes". Anyone who can use google and the wikipedia at the time can know that is bullshit.

Again, that's what I'm talking about. FUNi should make sure to get that version of Episode 5 and any other episodes that are similarly updated.

Don't worry they will. Original TV broadcast version will never be used anywhere again. Plus international releases always get the home release version.

I think what Kaboom is referring to is he hopes they make absolutely sure that that's the version they get. There have been cases in the past where the Japanese company that owns a show have accidentally sent the original airing or censored footage of a show to the dub company, without even realizing it, and they've accidentally released that version without realizing it. It's even happened to FUNi before, with a title called Sankarea.

A part that can be seen with better quality in the movies that the majority of Super buyers probably have.

They'll need to if they want the show to be a financial success.

Which is why they should skip the 1st 2 arcs cause if people see them then they probably won't buy the movies or the rest of Super.

Thanks to that Gt became pretty popular in the US which probably wouldn't have happened if that was the 1st arc people saw instead of Baby's.

If you're going to pay 35$-40$ on an anime then you're going to want quality which is something Super isn't providing as of now so if people pay that much for the 1st 2 sets then chances are they're going to drop it before reaching the new material.

The quality of Super is entirely subjective. You may not like, and hell, I may have found Super to be lacking in some areas, but everyone has a different opinion. Some people really like Super despite its flaws so far.
